Campus Life

The campus is massive about 1400 acres with a lot of interesting activities every now and then, the campus also has a sports culture with a lot of football and soccer tournaments round the year.

I stayed in a housing dedicated to graduate students called Graduate Hills which was about a 10-minute walk from the campus. The rent would be around 500-600 $ for a private room including utilities.

  • Dislikes:
  • High cost of living, since the campus is near Washington DC. Diversity is less, more than 60% of students are Indian so that is problematic.

Campus Life

Campus is amazing. Infrastructure is fabulous and there are a lot of extracurricular activities.

  • I don't dislike anything in particular about my college, but the one thing that could use some improvement is the construction that takes place around campus. There's always some kind of construction going on around campus which can get annoying at times.

Campus Life

The campus life is amazing with excelling infrastructure for almost every activity imaginable.

  • Dislikes:
  • The courses can be a little more technical and cover more advanced concepts like Cloud Computing and System Design, Pipeline Management. Adding these topics in their courses will help the students to actually gain skills that are more relevant to their actual work once if their domain is Data oriented. However, with the MIM Program at iSchool where I studied, I had the flexibility to easily learn these concepts from other schools like the prestine Iribe School for CS.

Campus Life

There are a lot of activities that keep happening around the campus which include free goodies and free food too! You will enjoy walking around the beautiful campus in all the weather conditions. You also have free shuttle services that take you around the college town for free.

Hostel

You have student housing options in the range of $1400 to $1700 which is generally shared between 4 people and covers all utilities in the rent including Wi-Fi

  • The diversity in some of the programs is quite less. There are many South Asian students in Engineering programs so does not feel like an international program. The nearby areas like Baltimore are notorious for a high crime rate so a precautions are needed if you are going there.

Campus Life

The campus life is quite good, there are plenty of extracurricular activities to choose from, these activities range from trekking to singing and whatnot. If you are interested in an activity there is probably a club for that. I personally am part of the robotics club and affordable prosthetics club. There are also world-class sports facilities available such as the SECU stadium which hosts the football game with a seating capacity of more than 50,000 people. Other facilities include a basketball arena, baseball, swimming pools and a college gym facility. Talking about libraries, there are multiple libraries on campus. The largest of them, the McKeldin Library is really fabulous with lots of books and other facilities such as private and group study rooms, computer systems, printers etc. The whole campus is covered with high-speed WiFi internet accessible via student credentials. There are many research facilities on campus, personally, I have been to the Robotics and Automation Lab and the Neutral Buoyancy Research Facility which host some of the best infrastructure and equipment for research, this is the same for other departments and their research facilities.

There are some facilities available for graduate students but they are scarce so most of the grad students stay off-campus in private properties which are abundant and easy to commute from. For undergraduate students the college has many dorms and hostels for accommodation.

  • We get Too many assignments but they might be common in all universities. Some faculties have a very strict grading system. So, it is not very easy to score good. Some courses are competitive to go get into and charge high fees. Mine is not like that

Campus Life

Everything is top notch. The library is huge. They even provide chargers of all types if you forget. Sports facilities are great. There’s a huge recreational arena including a separate gym just for the players.

I have a private room, private bath in a lavish apartment which costs me 900$ per month. But on an average, a private room will cost around 750.
