Campus Life

10

The campus life is great. The infrastructure is very modern and suffices all the student needs of a great WiFi, library, canteen and open space! There are tons of extra curricular activities happening on campus. For every student’s interest there is a club to join. You’ll never fall short of that.

The university has a lot of accommodation options but it gets filled out pretty quickly. The average rental would anywhere be between $1500 - $2000 per month in Manhattan. But if you move a little outside Manhattan like Jersey City, it could be around $1000 per month. The commute from Jersey City to college is between 40-45 mins by path and subway.

I live on-campus since it's so easy. All the buildings are connected via underground tunnels which makes it easier to reach the dining hall, library, classes, etc in a timely, recurrent manner. I live in McMahon hall which is an apartment-style room with three single bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living area. The heating and AC are reliable and if anything doesn't work, facility management is fantastic at fixing things quickly. It is expensive with room rates listed online by the year, but living in NYC is expensive either way.

I wanted to be in the city and Fordham was in a fantastic spot with access to the theater which is what I ultimately want to work in. I knew I was above Fordham's average so I could get in. I had the application fee waived. I applied to 14 colleges and I got into 9 of them. I've maintained a high honors status throughout all my schooling. I loved the independence the Lincoln Center campus has while still maintaining a sense of community.

Great professors, great location near the city. Beautiful campus and is not too big of a school, less than 10,000 students. Also, the students are all very motivated and driven creating a hardworking environment.
