Course Curriculum

6

  • I felt I learnt nothing crazy new; I learnt the same thing as my undergrad, but this could be because of the type of course I chose.
  • The RA experience, I am exploring options myself.
  • In a day, it will be max 2 classes.
  • 90 students.

Admission Experience

  • I chose this college because of 2 reason.
    • No other college accepted me other than Seattle University.
    • They gave me a scholarship of 10000 USD, too.
  • My scores: GRE: WAS AROUN 140 I guess IELTS WAS 7 OR 6.5

Faculty

6

  • Faculty is good, they are approachable and knowledgeable.

Campus Life

4

  • I am not too active person, my experience is I hung out a lot with my friends at homes and I was busy with either RA, Internship or so on. didn't experience much.
  • but their were several events happening once in a while, and there's like a sports club/bar kinda thing where you can play different sports, both indoor and outdoor, and a gaming console, etc.

Part Time Jobs

  • 12-16$ per hour. For TA, we need to apply to our department head directly. There is an application. RA, you need to reach out to professors, and the rest of it, you need to reach out as well. 20 hours per week is max allowed.
  • The very difficult number of students vs number of openings is very difficult. TA, RA, DA cumulative to batch strength, I think max 10% get students get it.

Placement

2

  • Less than 10%, but it's to blame on other factors, the economy is not doing well, a lot of visa issues with respect to international students.
  • Depends on the job title and location. If you get big tech, you can expect a base salary of $120k and above if it's in an expensive city like NYC or SF. otherwise usually around 60-90k$ is achievable.
  • Generally, internships convert to full-time. The current market scenario, reaching out to founders and hiring managers, is working.

Accommodation

Off Campus
6

  • Cost of accommodation: We did not stay in dorms; we stayed in houses near the campus, which are relatively cheaper. A housing crisis exists since lots of students and very few accommodations. I paid around 400-600$(shared space).

Exams

  • I came during the period where covid was just recovered, so GRE was not required.
  • IELTS was required.
  • I applied through Yoket for this university, they had a different portal, and this portal didn't check much on my background is what i feel yet people ask for SOP, LOR, and CV.

Fees

  • Excluding scholarship. Each subject (3 credits) costs around 5k $ (1500$ per credit) to complete the course. We need 30 credits, so around $50k is the total base required for education. Health insurance is mandatory for international students to attend college for international student.
  • Which is around 2k$ per year.
