What Students Say
Likes
- University of Michigan is one of the most prestigious universities. It is huge, a great place to walk around, safe, has great education and research opportunities, big name (Public Ivy). It boasts a large diverse student body and celebrates different cultures and perspectives. The sports culture is big with the football stadium being the second largest stadium in the world and I would definitely recommend watching a match there once.
- The University of Michigan has the best Health Informatics program in the US.
Dislikes
- Considering it is a public university, the tuition fee is very high for all the programs that you take although there are many funding opportunities. It is a small college town therefore sometimes one might get bored of exploring the same places. A car is beneficial if you are not within walking distance of campus. The bus feasibility is good but it can take up a lot of your time traveling if you do not look up the bus timings before hand and leave accordingly.
Required Exams for Admission
I would say it is an amazing university. Your choice to come here should depend on how good the program is and not how good the university is. I like the university, the town, and the people so far. I would recommend this university and program to everyone.
Course Curriculum
Very relevant, worked with real-life clients, reading a lot of relevant papers in the industry.
Faculty
The ratio is good, the faculty is approachable, and so far I have encountered all good faculty members. Dr. Allen Flynn
Campus Life
Clubs exist for every activity that you are interested in, if not you can create your own. Many events happen on campus all the time. Libraries are very good, sports, gym all facilities included. Wifi is always there.
Placement
The companies visiting depend on your program. Good mix of top and middle-level companies. I am not sure about the other details.
Accommodation
Can be sharing or not. Depends on your choice. Off campus housing are cheaper
Fees
26K USD per semester, 4 semesters for a 2 year program.
Scholarship
Yes, 35% from the university itself, apply before scholarship deadline.
