Review of iiit surat

I have the liked curriculum because we don't need to study useless subjects related to mechanical/chemical engineering cause there are only 2 branches.
The teaching is good, there are professors who have indepth knowledge in subject and offcourse there exist some professors who doesn't have any knowledge.
Our colleges has only 2 branches and maximum of 600 students which makes us feel more known to each other like most of know each other.

Dislikes

There is no own hostel for our college which makes us travel through bus which is provided by college with an annual fee of 10k.
Lack of own hostel and far from college many students stay in flat near the college which makes juniors less interacted with seniors.
There are two hostels and one hostel has many facilities like ground and personal washroom which other doesn't have these facilities.

This microsoft offered summer intership for three students of electronics and communication engineering students of 3rd year with a stifend of 1.25 lakhs per month, as i am in first year i don't have much idea about projects they have done.

College is more focused towards improving academically like improving themselves placement wise
College administration also supports in co curricular activities like they do provide fundings for our cultural clubs
Seniors are very supportiveand interactive. not any ragging kind lf things.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not present, so some students feel bad for their campus life.
Hostels are also not built yet. the current hostel are of some third party
By Spending My first semester I believe there were a few extra subjects which could not have as such done good with my engineering

Internships and details are provided geney on WA groups of students, where some business accounts are added and they they provide details of regarding this. This info is also shared by our many seniors.

Likes

I like the student staff interaction and I like the club activities.

Dislikes

The college campus is small and in a very rural place

Internships Opportunities:

The college is good and all the teachers are good they teach well but the internship facilities is good given by Wipro technologies pvt Ltd as intern in the company and the average package is 11 lakh and above all the best for beginners

IIIT SURAT IS IN BUILDING PHASE

Likes

The faculty and the course is very informative
Girl boy ratio is like 1:6 which is descent
College is in building phase so work has to be started

Dislikes

Lack of responsible people to run the college
Lack of facilities like games sports cultural

Internships Opportunities:

Internship basis on the college is very bad as you don't see good companies who are hiring people for internships all you can do is that you can go for off campus internship because through with second year you or even with cycle semester you are much experience and have a good command on many languages so definitely of campus placements will be much higher if you are scared otherwise on campus internship generally

Dislikes

The location of college is very bad like no transportation service within 1.5km
There are very few facilities available like library have only 16 seats.

Internships Opportunities:

I don't have much idea about internship Sher as a 1st year student but I have heard that the intership here are paid as well as free, Companies like Oracle,paypal,google etc ,are there for internship and placements.

IIIT SURAT KA PURAAN

Likes

The faculties are decent and few are very helpful but still you find issues in curriculum
Flexible time tables are big plus and you will never be at stress
You get to meet people around the country and will have a great time

Dislikes

No proper labs is biggest con. Mainly for electronics
Own hostel facility is still a big drawback post shifting campus
College also doesnt seem like a iiit, the college is vwry small and even smaller than the local small colleges

Internships Opportunities:

There were few companies like amazon, peoplestrong, GET, publicis sapient which came up with internship +PPO oputunutiea and apart from there there were many other opportunities too. The college projects also help to grow in future.

IIIT Surat is best among all the IIITs!!

IIIT Surat is far from the main city and therefore we don't have to deal with much of a traffic.
Since there are only two branches, the total strength of the college is just 650 and therefore it isn't crowded like IITs or other engineering colleges for that matter.
One canteen that serves all the purposes as it is huge and has a variety of dishes to offer.

Dislikes

Since it's too far from main city, getting autos at night becomes impossible and therefore we can't catch night trains to go home.

Placement Experience:

Skills are developed from the word go and our placement and training cell keeps a full track of it. Though, unless and until we enter the final yes, we are not allowed to sit for placements. L&T Infotech, TCS, Tata Technologies, Happiest Minds and various other top IT firms have made sure that placements are almost 90%. Average too is maintained over 10Lpa.

Our college is institute of national importance
All the faculties are passed out from IIT NIT
The curriculum of IIIT SURAT which have subject only related to branch

Dislikes

Our college have very small campus with respect to other INI
There is no facility of postal within a campus
College administration is not very supportive

Placement Experience:

Placement in our college is quite decent. From 3rd year onwards students are eligible for placement. Companies like Oracle Microsoft brane and TCS and Infosys visited our college for placement. Highest package is around 45 lakhs and average package around 9 to 10 lakhs. In ECE branch their percentage of placement is around 60 to 70%. I will pursue masters after completing my BTech

Likes

Seniors were amazing. Lots of them inspired to do coding at top level.

Dislikes

Campus Life is not interesting. Except you won't have much outside coding

Placement Experience:

Right after 6th year students become eligible for internship. Though people received paid summer internship even in 1st year, the count is less. Highest placed offer was of 54LPA and average was 16LPA for CSE
