IIT Jammu Ph.D. Materials Engineering Fees
The Ph.D. programme at IIT Jammu is highly subsidised for regular (full-time) students, with zero tuition fee for institute-funded scholars. Other fee components include a nominal annual fee and semester fee. One-time fees such as the security deposit are charged at the time of admission. Hostel and mess charges are paid separately each semester. The total institute fee (excluding hostel) for a regular PhD student is approximately Rs. 63,100 for the first year (including one-time charges), and approximately Rs. 36,360 per year thereafter.

- Tuition fee is waived for regular (full-time institute-funded) PhD students.
- Fee components other than tuition fee increase annually at approximately 7%.
- Mess charges are notified separately each semester and are subject to revision.
- The Security Fee of Rs. 10,000 is refundable at the time of leaving the institute, subject to no dues.
- Application fee: Rs. 300 for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and Rs. 200 for SC/ST/PWD candidates (non-refundable).
- Thesis submission fee of Rs. 5,000 is charged at the time of thesis submission.
