Visva Bharati University comprises eight institutes with 40 departments, offering over 150 programs at undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and diploma levels in diverse fields like humanities, sciences, performing arts, and education. Admissions to most courses are based on CUET scores, except for certain performance-based disciplines. The university's placement cell actively conducts annual placement drives. In the 2022-2023 session, more than 700 students secured jobs, with the highest median package being INR 5.4 LPA and an average package of INR 6 lakh for in-campus placements.
Although the campus recruitment sees limited employer participation, over 95% of students find employment, often choosing off-campus placements with preferred companies. The university offers an affordable fee structure, with first-year fees for General and OBC students at approximately INR 7000 and INR 6000 for SC/ST/EWS students. In the second year, fees are halved, with General and OBC paying around INR 3000 and SC/ST/EWS around INR 2000. Several scholarships are available, including SVMCM, Kanyashree, OASIS, and private scholarships from Jindal and TATA.
The SVMCM scholarship offers around INR 24000, with renewal in the second year requiring 53% marks in MA.
