- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

- Fully Functioned AC classroom with WIFI facility
- Well equipped room with ample amount of light and air with wifi facility
- Most of the teachers are very helpful and they are very concerned about our safety and well being.
Dislikes
- The college authority neglects the sports equipment quality and they dont maintain fields here.
Placement Experience:
From the start of 3rd sem, students are eligible for on-campus internships and from 4th sem, students are eligible for campus placements. Microsoft, Wells Fargo, JPMC, PWC, IBM, MathWorks, TCS, IDFC Bank, HDFC Bank and many many more companies come for campus placements. The highest package is offered 57 lpa and the average package is 16lpa or above. Most companies hire for the role SDE, Product Manager, Data Analyst, Bank Manager etc. roles. Almost 90 percent of the students are placed by on-campus placement drive.

Placement Experience:
Placemets are quite hood on the campus nit Durgapur specially trains and encourages the students to sit for internships and placements. A student is eligible to seat for the internships at the beginning of the third and placements from the beginning of the final year.. a student can manage getting a PPO after completing the internship in the 3rd which is also encouraged by the student. The other criteria regarding to placements and internship is quite well-defined in the NIT dgps website.

- AC classrooms, the library, the Nescafe shop and strolling through the campus.
- Some subjects like intro to programming and DSA were good and challenging.
- Placement and internship opportunities are not bad. Career development centre provides assistance with getting a job.
Dislikes
- The syllabus is outdated and needs to be revamped. New courses like AI/ML and web development should be incorporated in CSE course.
- The students are a mixed bunch. Some are helpful, some not so much. Leaves you with mixed feelings about people (but mostly bad).
- Course materials should be made more available, YouTube playlists recommended by faculty and paper checking process should be made more transparent
Placement Experience:
Placements are pretty decent. Big tech companies like Microsoft and Amazon visit the campus almost every year. JP Morgan, Adobe, and Qualcomm are some other recruiters. Circuital branches see high packages. The average in CSE can reach over 20 LPA. Placement percentage varies from year to year. It's usually above 80 percent. - Professors are very hardworking and very knowledgeable. They try there best to teach.
- There is no risk of ragging or such thing in this college. Ragging is strictly prohibited.

- The mess food is not upto the marks especially for the vegetarian people. But it can be managed after seeing the placements.

Campus placement is very good. The internship starts in the second year. And campus starts from the third year more precisely the fifth semester. This year Microsoft alone has appointed 35 students from our college. The highest package is about 80 lakh for a student who has applied off-campus. On campus, the highest placement is about 55 lakhs. About 90 percent of students get placed in our college every year.

- The campus is lish green and looks way too beautiful in rain
- The lecture halls are well equipped with modern technology
- The CSE ECE EE placements are really impressing although not so much as iits but satisfactory among nits

- There's a strict 75% attendance criteria for all
- Lab equipments are not updated , should upgrade those
- College feels like a school because of all the restrictions

Placements are very good for cse ,ece, and ee.
For the rest, it's not satisfying.
The average package was 13.6 lpa this year for the whole.
Cse avarage was 22 lpa and ece 19 lpa.
Many people opt for higher studies, PhD, MTech, or MBA.

- Placement is very good for my branch,this year the highest CTC is 72lpa.

- As I am a South Indian i didn't liked the food here
- The curriculum can be far more advanced by making some changes
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because I want to become a software engineer, our institute's faculty-student ratio is 1:21. all the faculty members are PhD holders in their respective domains. Their teaching methods are good, for a semester we will have two term exams mid and end-term. Mid-term exam papers will be easier to score compared to the end term so it is easy to pass if you score well in mid-term

- Campus life is the best. You get freedom and you can do anything. There is a free campus for you where you can roam 3 at night with your girlfriend and no one is to tell you anything. You can bath or not in winter is in u .
- You can go for library for hours to study and take any book u want with anyone, maybe your girlfriend 😜. ECE is a cazz if u get take it blindly
- Helpful teachers and coding culture and dev society
Dislikes
- Mess in first year. That is worst. Many restrictions on first year's
- Don't take electrical engineering in this college. It is the toughest one
- Mechanical students have a lot of pressure on them.
Placement Experience:
5th semester for internships and onwards you may get PPO and from 7th semester you will get full-fledged placement opportunities though from 6th it starts.
57lpa highest and 18.8lpa average salary for CSE
95% choose the placement and others for higher studies, by their own wish. If you are in CSE, there is a 99.99% probability of your placement.

The college placement rate is excellent. The CSE program at the college has a strong placement rate. The college placement committee is quite competent, and each member of the committee appropriately guides us through the placement round, ensuring that every student who participates is placed. Our batch's maximum package was 29 LPA, while the average package was roughly 9.50 LPA. For the placement drive, firms such as Wipro, TCS, IBM, Amazon, Axis Bank, Microsoft, Capgemini, Bajaj Auto, Larsen & Toubro, Cognizant, and others came to our campus.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
