IIM Calcutta MBA Eligibility Criteria 2027
Candidates applying for IIM Calcutta MBA admission must hold a bachelor’s degree with the minimum aggregate marks specified for their category. Class 10th and 12th marks are considered in the Stage 2 shortlisting for composite score.

IIM Calcutta PGPEX-VLM Admissions 2027 are conducted for experienced engineers. PGPEX-VLM is a 1-year full-time residential program jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. It includes 36 weeks of classroom study and 1,173 interaction hours, along with industry exposure and an international immersion component.
PGPEX-VLM Eligibility 2027
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a first-class graduate engineer with first-division/first-class marks from the Secondary Examination onwards.
- GMAT/GRE score is optional. Candidates who already have a GMAT or GRE score are still required to appear for the written test if they are shortlisted.
- Self-sponsored candidates: 4.5 to 10 years of full-time work experience in manufacturing, engineering and related sectors.
- Sponsored candidates: Minimum 4.5 years of work experience, with no upper limit.
- Candidates on study leave: Minimum 4.5 years of work experience, with no upper limit.

PGPEX-VLM selection process broadly consists of application and shortlisting, written test and Personal Interview.
Step 1: Application and Shortlisting
Candidates first apply for the program and are screened based on the eligibility requirements and the criteria specified by the admission committee. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are shortlisted for the written test.
Step 2: Written Test
Shortlisted candidates must appear for a written test comprising three sections:
- Verbal Ability
- Quantitative Ability
- Engineering Ability
Written test is conducted in Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi.
Step 3: Personal Interview
Candidates shortlisted after the written test are called for PI at the host institute. The interview mode may be changed depending on the circumstances and applicable government advisories.
Step 4: Final Selection
Final selection is based on the candidate's academic records, work experience, written-test performance and Personal Interview performance. The Tri-institute admission authority may modify the admission criteria depending on the feasibility of conducting the written test or interview.

Candidates must complete PGPEX-VLM application form online through the application portal. The application process includes the following steps:
- Create a username and password on the doms.iitm.ac.in.

- Upload a recent passport-size photograph and scanned self-attested copies of transcripts/mark sheets and other required documents.

IIM Calcutta is the only one among the three that fully publishes its Stage II and Stage III weightage formula. This means aspirants can estimate their composite before appearing for WAT-PI.
