Admissions to the MBA in International Business at IIFT Kolkata now depend on CAT scores, a change from the previously conducted IIFT exam. Eligibility requires candidates to be in the final year or have completed a full-time graduation with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. Applicants need to clear the CAT exam, held annually in late November. The initial shortlisting involves clearing sectional and overall cutoffs, which may vary by category.
For example, recent cutoffs for the general category were around 40 sectional percentile and 40.5 overall, while reserved categories had lower thresholds. Selected candidates for the next round undergo Group Discussion and Personal Interview processes. Weightage for final admission includes CAT scores and past academic performance. The full admissions process can extend up to five months, with the new academic session commencing in July. The application process involves filling out forms available on the IIFT website, with fees ranging from INR 1000 to 2500 depending on the category.
The complete process includes consideration of waitlists for both Delhi and Kolkata campuses. No direct or management quota admissions are indicated, but SC/ST candidates benefit from a 50% tuition fee waiver.

Shortlisting for full-time MBA is based on the CAT Written Test. The final selection depends upon GD and PI. For part-time MBA, the institute prefers candidates with work experience. Those who qualifies the test are called for GD and PI rounds. The above 3 rounds will be held in January/February.
