SNU Ph.D. (Management) FAQs
Ques. Is UGC-NET mandatory to apply for the Ph.D. (Management) program at SNU?
Ans. No, UGC-NET is not mandatory to apply. However, candidates who hold a valid UGC-NET score (or equivalent national/international eligibility test) are exempted from SNU's own written entrance test. Candidates without such a score must appear for the written test conducted by SNU, followed by an interview with an Academic Area Expert. Having a UGC-NET qualification does strengthen your application considerably.
Ques. What is the stipend structure for full-time Ph.D. students at SNU, and is it guaranteed?
Ans. All full-time Ph.D. students at SNU receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 45,000 during the first two years and Rs. 50,000 per month during years three to five. This stipend is part of the program's award structure and is provided to all enrolled full-time doctoral students. Additionally, an annual tuition fee waiver of Rs. 60,000 is also provided, reducing the effective tuition cost significantly. Part-time Ph.D. students, however, do not receive any stipend or fee waiver.
