MBA aspirants seeking admission at Anna University must qualify the following eligibility criteria-
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50 % (45 % in case of candidates belonging to reserved category- BC/BCM/MBC/SCA/SC/ST) from a recognised university.
- Candidates must have passed 10+2+3 or 4 or 5 year’s pattern or 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern or B.E. / B. Tech. / B.Arch. / B. Pharm.
- AMIE with 2-years of regular full-time Teaching experience / Industrial experience in the relevant field after completing the course including project work.
- Candidates appearing for their final semester examinations of the qualifying degree may also apply for TANCET.

TANCET MBA is a state level examination, conducted for admission to MBA programs of Institutes accepting TANCET MBA score in the state of Tamil Nadu. TANCET is a pen-paper test and the duration of the exam is 120 minutes. Each question has a weightage of 1 mark. For every incorrect answer, 1/3 marks are deducted. The question paper for all the courses will follow a different structure and syllabus. The exam will be conducted in two languages- English and Tamil (except the General English section).

How to Apply for Anna University Chennai?
A candidate seeking admission, have to register themselves on the official website of TANCET, here is the detail following steps for same:
Registration:
- Visit the official website of TANCET.
- On the left side of the window, click on the “TANCET” link. TANCET Registration is depicted in the picture below, for clear understanding.
- Click on “New User Registration” link.
- Enter your Name, Mobile Number, Email Address, and Password.
- Now, click on “I Agree” button in the declaration box. It is compulsory as, without the declaration, the form will not be submitted.
- Click on the “Submit” button at the end of the form.
How to fill the Application Form?
- Candidates should first login to fill TANCET application form.
- Carefully fill all the details such as personal details and academic details.
- Select the exam center and course for which you want to apply.
- Upload your recent passport size photograph in JPEG/JPG format.

Following reservation are applied at Anna University:

Yes, AU Chennai does offer distance mode education to various courses including M.Tech course.
Anna University conducts the classes for part-time programs from 4:45 pm to 7:30 pm. Students will be given a time table and the classes will be conducted accordingly.
To get admission in the MBA program Anna University you must take TANCET. Admission is based on the merit of TANCET. The university releases the cut-off for the respective categories of students. The average cut-off for General category students is 38-40.
Anna University Distance Education does not provide MTech part-time.
