Chandigarh University: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 11 Reviews

The university offers a straightforward admission process for its programs, requiring a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in a B.Sc. with Chemistry as a major. Admissions are first-come, first-served, with limited seats, and the process involves submitting documents online, at regional centers, or on-campus. The faculty is highly qualified, offering personalized attention with a student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 or 10:1. The curriculum includes regular tests and exams, with a split of external and internal marks.

Attendance above 90% earns a 2-mark boost. The program fee is approximately 35,000 INR, considered reasonable with no hidden charges. Payment options are diverse, including online, cash, or card. Hostel and mess fees are manageable, though the mess quality is sometimes criticized. The university provides ample placement and internship opportunities with top firms like Amazon and Microsoft, offering packages up to 42 LPA. Scholarships based on academic performance and entrance exams can significantly reduce fees, with several concessions available for high achievers and ex-service members' children.

The annual fee for MSc Chemistry is about 70,000 INR, with potential reductions through scholarships. Additional costs include exam and registration fees, club fees, and hostel charges, but some value-added courses are free.
