Admission to the B.Tech program at Mizoram University requires candidates to pass the Mizoram University Engineering Entrance Examination (MZUEEE) and have a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 10+2 examinations. The B.Tech program is a 4-year full-time course with a first-year fee of Rs. 39,150 and Rs. 32,400 for each of the following three years, totaling Rs. 1,36,350. For NRI students, the total fee is INR 7.75 lakhs.
Fees are payable through SBI collect, with no extra charges. The teaching faculty is generally supportive and experienced, although some variability in teaching quality exists. About 50% of students from senior batches secure placements with companies like Powergrid, Wipro, and Infosys, with salaries ranging from Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 40,000 per month. Placement efforts are more developed in older departments, while newer ones are still establishing their strategies. Internships are available, mainly for students from older departments.
Scholarships offered include the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC/ST candidates, UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR, INSPIRE, Meritorious scholarships for science students, Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students, and the MZU-UGC Fellowship for Non-NET Ph.D. and M.Phil. candidates. Students are encouraged to maintain good attendance and academic performance.
