Student driven college, all the activities right from the placement to running hostel and mess, everything done was done by the batch only.
Loved the campus location, mine was the old campus: Mayurbhanj Palace.
The faculties are outstanding. Most of the help you equip yourself with the skills and knowledge required for the next phase of life.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship(Summer internship) which commences at the start of 2nd year, is a mandatory one, and ample companies come on the campus to provide opportunities to students. After you successfuly complete your internship, the company gives you a completion certificate that is required by the college. The inetrnship can be in the domain of any management profile, from Marketing, Ops, Strategy to Finanace

First thing is students are provided with single room accomodation which is better for effective learning.
All the 22 club and committess are run by students.
In class case discussions and relevant group assignments make learning more enriching.

College Gym is still in making and will take more 2 to 3 months to complete

Internships Opportunities:

A summer internship cycle is run for student of first year, as doing a 2 months internship is part of curriculum and add credit. College is successful for 100 % internship placement for all the students. Big companies like cluster of MBB , Deloitte, EY etc visit for summers as well. Based on performance they even give PPO . Last year 85 PPOs were given to the batch of 200. Projects during internship depends on the role you have been picked for . It will include projects related to finance, consulting, HR , sales , Marketing ,operations etc.

Internships Opportunities:

I interned in Mangal Credit and Fincorp Ltd, a Mumbai based NBFC. Most of our recruiters who come for finals also recruits for Summer Internships. Most offers are made in the marketing domain. Companies usually have a fixed training program for management interns irrespective of which B-school they recruit from. Many of us especially in the consulting and IB domains get a chance to work on actual projects which is a great learning experience.

How good is IIM Raipur, and what is the position amongst the six new IIMs and Shillong?

Firstly let me clarify one thing. IIM Raipur cannot be compared to IIM Shillong because the latter is out of the league and is no longer a new IIM. Its worth and placements are much better than the newer IIMs and are in the league of old IIMs. We can only compare IIM Raipur to the 6 new IIMs namely Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Trichy, Udaipur, and Kashipur.

After Shillong, one new IIM that gives an edge to older IIMs is Ranchi mainly because it works under the mentorship of IIM Calcutta. The placement statistics of IIM Ranchi are a testament to the same.

After Ranchi comes to Trichy, one of the fastest-growing IIMs. It has a decent placement scenario and a better professional approach.

Raipur and Udaipur are almost similar and are better than Kashipur and Rohtak. Raipur especially enjoys location advantage being situated in the capital of Chattisgarh. The faculty base is also quite learned and the institute has proper connectivity.

Kashipur has many connectivity issues but is famous for its guest lectures and interaction with industry experts.
