04 Nov, 2025 NIRF Ranking 2025 has been released on September 4, 2025. Mumbai University secured the following positions:

#92 out of 200 under “Overall Category”

#12 out of 100 universities under “Overall University Category”

The University of Mumbai also known as Mumbai University (MU) is one of the oldest Universities in India. It was established way back in 1857. It has done a tremendous effort in improving its ranking. Mumbai University has managed to gain a place in the list of top 100 institutes published by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) India Ranking in 2023. It has been ranked 96 in the overall category and 56 in Universities as per NIRF 2023 Ranking. At the international level, Mumbai University has been ranked 1001-1200 by the US World University Ranking 2023. It has also been ranked at 1201-1500 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.

I like the faculty as the faculty is supportive and approachable we can reach out to them very eaily and ask them wuestions they are very helpful
They have facilities such as canteen good air conditioned classrooms and library
We can arrange extra lectures if we need by just adking the teachers for it and they work on it they are a bit flexible on due dates they give us extra time even if the due date to submit ang fo ument or anything is exceeded

Dislikes

The canteen area doesnt seem very hygienic to me i dont think its very trustable to eat there
The extra fees charged to every student that too in cash compulsorily
The campus area is very small to be honest there is no campus area it is just a building

Placement Experience:

After the second semester students can apply for internship which is also provided by the college the college provides campus placement which can be availed by th students the judges from the high court also visit the colleges and opportunity is given to the students to consult with them thr stidents can also apply for internship individually on thier own the college give mid size placements do not expect much

My overall experience at the college has been positive because it gives enough opportunities to grow if you actively participate. The academic environment is serious but not suffocating. Good teachers are approachable and genuinely try to help beyond
Faculty quality is mixed but mostly competent. Some professors teach in a very practical and engaging way, using real examples and encouraging questions. Others are more traditional and theory-heavy, so self-study becomes important in those subjects.

There are many internship options as I heard from my seniors which was beneficial for them which also has stipend . As l said I am in my first year so I don't have much experience about the internships .

KPB Hinduja College is of highest order!

Likes

Hinduja College works hard with its placements cell so that placements are consistent.
One can't get away with our college societies as there are so many and one get enough experience and exposure from them.
Warm hospitality is what students get here as every staff members are like that.

Dislikes

Rest all are awesome about our college but infrastructure even lacks some basic things.

JP Morgan Chase and Yes Bank have come so far to interview for the internships in April. Likewise it has just started and over 30+ organisations are going to come and students can easily get internships here and 1st year students can expect a stipend of around 15-20k.

TCSC is tremendous!

Our college now has all new age technology available at our campus.
Fabulous faculties as they have made my classrooms memories ever lasting.
Over 70% students have been placed in my batch and it's better than Mithibai or KC college.

Dislikes

Our fest Taarangan hardly see any participants from SOBO colleges.

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

There is no campus in our college it's all lobbies and lobbies but there are much more fun things outside college ample amounts of canteens in different college you can go and eat . Irla market and etc places you can shop also

There's a good thing I can say: they maintain good cleanliness.
Campus is vast so that's a good thing, many options avaliable
Canteen is good and affordable, hygienic stuff can be improved though

Dislikes

Campus is vast, they need to have some instructions for buildings
Need good security, having few watchmens isn't a good idea
Timings could be better, 2-4 hours of lectures are enough, but sometimes they have over 5 hours

Internships Opportunities:

The internship opportunities are okayish, they dont like provide much of it, but lately they have been focusing on it. Let see what happens in future though. If they have a will, then the scene and opportunities will improve and rise respectively.

Likes

The girls to boy ratios is good, we get to see all girls equal contributing in the college
The faculty is good, they are very helpful and give good guidance
The boys and girls common room is good to get together with friends to chill and study

Dislikes

Faculty being good they are sassy and might ignore for a time to teach you that not everything will be entertained
The principal is kinda rude and his speech is too long
Well other activities like sports isn't support properly

From 7th sem students are eligible for placement Companies visited are tcs and few others i don't remember their names The average package is 5 lpa and the highest is 13 lpa Mostly 80-90% of students gets placement as they do a placement training for us amd prepares us for the placement exams and interviews and all My personal plan is to go abroad for higher studies but i am going to sit for placement if i get good package then i might not go to abroad for higher studies

Good infrastructure, proper maintained classroom with smart boards , projector and podium in each classsroom . centalized AC too
The professors and staff members are helpfull. The hygiene and rules are strictly followed. no one is allowed to go outside the campus without a gate pass which is approve by the college authority
Good library and computer lab facility also given. Plus a garden to calm your thoughts. councelor is also provided to us , we can share anything with her without any fear .

Dislikes

They won't allow us to use tissue paper at all. tissue paper are strictkly forbidden .
As we are not allowed to eat in the class . We rushed to find a place to eat before it gets crowded or booked . canteen and terrace area and commom room are only place for all the MMS , BMS and PGDM students together.
Sometimes management of activities are not done properly. the events are started late . no proper arrangement for internals marks showing .

Internships Opportunities:

i have not got any internship opportunity for my self . my frinds who were in earlier batch said they have llimited internship oppotunity . So for summer internship they ahd to look for themsleves . the internship should be onlt for 60 days.

Internships Opportunities:

There are my company and classes which provides us with many internship opportunity but there is a catch. The opportunity are not for Cs or IT department it feels like more for commerce department. It can be due to lack of our participants or college neglects.
