Mumbai University MA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the M.A. course offered at Mumbai University shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

For MA General Admission, candidates need to qualify B.A. degree in a relevant discipline.
For MA admission in education candidates must qualify B.A. in education or B.Ed. with a Score of 45%. For reserved category candidates need to get 40% marks.

Mumbai University MA Admission Criteria

Mumbai University MA admission at all affiliated colleges and University departments are based on merit (marks secured in the qualifying examination). Candidates seeking admission need to fill the application form with a pre-enrollment form online. After the registration process is completed, affiliated colleges of the university will release merit lists of selected candidates based on marks secured in the qualifying examination. Selected candidates are then required to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.

How to Apply for Mumbai University MA Admission?

First log in to the official website of the Mumbai University and click on the link for “Pre- Admission Online Registration” on the home page.
Then click on “Apply Online” and put your authentic details for registration and click on “Register”.
A verification code and a link is received on your mobile through SMS. Then log in with your verification code, enter all the specific details and requirements on the online application form.
Recent passport size colour photographs of dimensions 35mm x 45 mm with a minimum 72 to maximum 150 DPI resolution must be attached with it.
Registration fee of Rs. 100 must be paid through a Demand Draft in favour of “The Finance and Accounts Officer, University of Mumbai”.
You have to separately submit documents along with application form to the university.

For Eligibility Certificate (If applicable): You must attach an Eligibility certificate if you belong to any other University except Mumbai University.

Mumbai University 2024 reservation criteria for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC and other categories. This university has reservations for the categories like D.T. (A), N. T. (B) and N. T. (C).

Mumbai University MA Course Details

Mumbai University MA program is a two year semester based program.
M.A. program offer Specializations like- African Studies, Arabic, Civics & Politics, Geography, German, Economics, Education, English, Eurasian Studies, French, Gujarati, Hindi, History, Islamic Studies, Kannada, Linguistics, Psychology, Marathi, Mathematics, Numismatics & Archaeology, Pali, Persian, Philosophy, Sociology, Statistics, Urdu, Avesta, A.I.C, Public Policy, Buddhist Studies, Entertainment Media & Advertising, Television and New Media Production, Business Economic, Public Relations, Rural Development, Russian, Sanskrit, Sindhi.
There are a total 100 marks for each paper. Out of 100 marks 40 belongs to Internal exam and 60 belongs to External exam.
For qualifying in the particular paper candidate needs to get 40 marks out of 100. In Internal exam 16 is qualifying marks out of 40 and 24 is qualifying marks out of 60 in External exam.
Students will not be allowed to appear for M.A. Part –II examination unless the student has qualified the Part –I exam.

Course curriculum and faculty members was poilte and quite good knowledgeable. I found that whatever I want to do in my life this course will help me to established my career. The ration of Faculty: student ration is 3:7 Suitable qualification of the faculty according to the students and student's course as well as method was appropriately applied. Term exam was on timely manner and it was well planned and quite effortless work to do better for everyone from the faculty.

My journey of six years

After spending six years in this college, I really like the greenary environment of the college.
The new GCR is really very good, appreciate it. The book store and the Xerox store in the campus is helpful.

The toilets are mostly dirty, it should be cleaned

I am in this college since Fyjc, I graduated in BA English literature further I wanted to pursue my MA in English literature so I opted again for this college because of the faculty. The teaching faculty is really very good and helpful. All the professors are the best and their teaching methods are too helpful for us. The exams are conducted on time just the issue is that prior notice should be given on time to the students and not just 2-3 days before the exam it should be at least a week before. The faculty-student ratio is also appropriate. I really appreciate the teaching staff and some of the non-teaching staff too but speaking about the non-teaching staff few are really very lazy in their work.

Pros and Cons of Rd Nationals

Faculty of Masters in English Literature is amazing.

Washrooms are dirty, taps and flushes dont work, doors are broken.
No specific classroom is allotted for MA students.

The curriculum is given by the university and it really needs to improve with its speed of evaluating papers and giving out the results. The faculty of RD nationals is amazing. The English literature department is amazing and very helpful.

Life at Nationals (if you've taken a course you love)

Campus life and extra curricular activities were fairly fun and interactive, got to learn a lot of things.
Course was so much fun, our teachers are fun and they make learning fun and interactive.

Infrastructure is of poor quality, very less amenities.
Non teaching staff is usually rude or not very cooperative.

I choose this course because I'm really passionate about literature and writing, I would like to be a writer/ author (I have already started working on a book). The student ratio is more than 85% women to 15%men (which is fair I guess). The faculty teaching us is highly qualified and up to the mark. The term exams were timed perfectly apart although the exams seemed difficult (for me at least).

English Department Faculty is approachable

The canteen is not that hygienic and needs to be improved
Some classes are not well planned and are really congested

R.D National College is one of the best colleges in Mumbai and it's English Faculty also lives up to the standard. The faculty is highly qualified and extremely approacable. The class size is not that being providing a perfect teacher student ratio that enables the Professor to personally know and improve each student. The faculty also uses various teaching aids to help students and better teach their topics which most professors in other case seem to ignore.

My classmates and their never ending helping hands. The location is perfect, easy to travel to and easily accessible to every convenient shops, etc.
The bookstore that provides all my needful books all the time.

The noisy canteen that needs to be more hygienic.
The administration because it takes me much more time than is required when running for some form or a marksheet.

I chose the stream in this college probably because of the teachers in the department. The English department has the best teachers, all are excellent in teaching and guidance. Most of the teachers are well qualified with a Ph.D. degree in their hands along with many achievements. I can always trust the teachers and their teachings who are always ready to get us on the right path and not to mention, exam tips. If attended lectures regularly, it's not that difficult to pass any exams that the university or the college conduct. In every semester, two exams are held.

The security guards. At times they act too strict even when they know you well
many classrooms aren't well-maintained or do not look modern

I chose this course because of the freedom it provides in terms of career options and I had an interest in what I was going to study. The faculty members are very knowledgeable and helpful. They solve all your doubts without being rude.

My College Safar or suffer lol

My friends, campus, memories, fests, movie promotions

Canteen too small, classroom without ac, management too slow

I choose this Because I was very interested in literature. The students were mostly girls. The teachers were fabulous, well taught wise ma'am, I just love their teaching, they are so cool and the way they make it so interesting and interactive. Exams are yes difficult to pass because you have to remember everything but it's even to learn.
