MANIT, Bhopal offers a good Computer Science Engineering course. In recent years, some new courses have been added as electives for the course. These courses include Machine Learning, Image Processing, Big Data, etc. Students can study these courses from their 3rd year. However, there are no good faculties to teach these courses in depth.

The course work includes only one programming language, i.e. C programming. It is very basic and taught by contract professors. Students are required to do two projects. Most students do Machine Learning projects.

The computer labs aren’t in good condition. You will need to do most of the work on your personal computer.

Compared to most NITs, MANIT Bhopal offers good placement opportunities for CSE. Recruiters like Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. visit the campus placements. For CSE, the average CTC stays around INR 12.5 LPA.

The placement scenario is very good. For 2023 placements, 89.89% students from COE were placed. The median package stood at INR 18.50 LPA.
Cities like Delhi and Chandigarh are just 2-3 hours away from Kurukshetra. So you can access good GATE and CAT coaching centers.
The COE syllabus is updated and improved.
As per the 2023 Engineering rankings, NIT Kurukshetra stands at 58th position while NIT Bhopal stands at 80th position.

Here are the key points based on their experience-

MANIT CSE has the same placement records as CSE at top NITs and IITs. Try to make the most out of the opportunities provided to you.
The seniors at the CSE department are very helpful.
An important tip for you is to not indulge in any kind of quarrel with the locals. They do not allow the MANIT students to roam around or perform any kind of mischief outside of the college campus.
The campus is quite huge, and cycling is the best way to move back and forth between the hostel and the classrooms.
The CSE professors impart useful knowledge, so attend their classes regularly .
In order to ace the placements, start competitive programming from semester 2 itself.

Make the most of your stay at MANIT Bhopal and study hard from the first year itself. If you do this, you’ll find CSE at MANIT to be quite good.

Faculty and Teaching Standards - The CSE faculty at NIT Bhopal is not up to the mark. If you are looking for a faculty to guide you and teach you everything, you will be disappointed over there. At NIT Bhopal, you will mostly be on your own. This can be advantageous in that you will get ample time to work on yourself and prepare well for your future.
Placements - The placement scenario for CSE is quite good at NIT Bhopal. Multiple companies regularly visit the campus for CSE placements and many new ones visit each year. Various companies hire CSE students for different positions. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, SAP, Factset, etc. visit the campus for CSE placements. During 2022, the average package for CSE students stood at INR 17.45 LPA. CSE students also receive internship offers during their pre final/ final year. These internships are of 2, 6 or 10 months and you may even end up with pre placement offers.

NIT Bhopal CSE has a good placement record but not the best faculty. I would suggest you consult the alumni from CSE branch at NIT Rourkela to get a clear picture of this institution as well before you can choose between the two.

B.Tech CS offered by MANIT has its own cons. Here is some information about the same-

The topics taught in first year are mostly non related to your branch. Pay attention to Programming and Communication Skills taught during this time.
A lot of time is wasted in the labs, learning outdated topics.
Around 20% of the syllabus is outdated, and students solely rely on coding for good job offers. Thus, most of them go into Soft Skills rather than R&D positions.
Internet connectivity is crippled by throttling and capping in the hostels.
The files and sessionals are copy pasted.
CS students get tier-2 and 3 companies through campus placements. They jump into tier-1 companies after a while. So, even though there is 100% placement, the ground reality is a bit different.

The CSE offered at MANIT Bhopal is decent, and requires a lot of effort from your side. I would suggest you learn C programming language before joining the college.

Don’t take an educational loan to go to BIT Mesra, if you are getting MANIT Bhopal CSE. You can easily get an income-based scholarship at MANIT Bhopal.

At MANIT placement percentage as well as the highest package, both are pretty high. At MANIT Bhopal, the placement percentage goes as high as 98% and the highest package offered this year was around 42 LPA.

A friend of mine used to be a student of NIT Bhopal and I can give you some insights based on his experiences.

Faculty: In terms of faculty, the less you expect from them the better. You will be entirely left to fend for yourselves. Even if the labs are more or less okay, you will have to approach a faculty for making use of the facilities and learn on your own.
Attendance: It is not mandatory for the students to maintain a certain percentage of attendance. Having an attendance of 40-50% would be enough. A lot of the students who were in my friend’s batch completed the program through PDF files.
Labs: If you are not smart enough to learn on your own then the labs will not be of much help to you. The scenario is changing now however and the students are being forced to go to the labs.
Projects: If you are passionate about development then it will probably get a huge blow as researches oriented programs are only accepted at NIT Bhopal. The institute wants to publish more and more of its research papers in its name for career development. If you do not submit your research paper at the end of your project, your grades will be negatively affected.
Placements: Speaking about the placements, it’s good for CSE. All the cons of the institute do not take a toll on the impressive placement record of NIT Bhopal.
Coding culture: The competitive programming at NIT Bhopal will bring you in contact with some of the best coders of the institute. The atmosphere also promotes healthy competition.

Apart from all these pros and cons, you will get ample time to prepare for competitive exams like CAT, UPSC, GMAT, GRE, etc.

For manit the yaerly fees is Rs.1.25Lpa as tutuion fees, 15K as Hostel fees 8K as other fees and also hostel and maintaince charges (electricity and water ) about 21K for general students fees greater than 5Lpa for 1-5 lpa bracket the tution fees is only 1/3 of actual amount and rest all amount remains same for less than 1 lpa bracket it tution fees is waived off also for sc st tution fees is waived and rest all remains the same

College fees is the similar in all the NITs. Students from SC, ST category and family income less than 5 lakhs per annum do not have to pay tuition fees. Fees waver is there for economically weaker sections also. Tuition fees ranges from 60000 to 200000. Hostel and mess fees is not included in this.

There are many scholarship schemes provided by college as well as state government if you are obc whose income is less than 1lac then you will get 100% scholarship in institute fee if income is 1to 5lac then you will get 67% scholarship. A "MMVY" scholarship also provided by mp government for mp students.

Fess are paid by the student on the basis of family annual income and category of student. Paid through portal of Manit by sign in by the student. I paid around 100000 for whole year. In this total fees 27500 is paid as hostel and mess fees and there are some other charges also included like bus facility and internet facility.

The yearly fees that I paid or I will pay is about 96000 per year. The tuition fees that I paid about 84000 per year and the caution money is to be paid about 5000 ( only one time at the time of admission) and the other fees is 12000 per year. Some of my batchmate did not pay the tuition fees ( who belong from sc/st category).

The fee we pay yearly is around 1 lakh for me because I belong to the less than 1 lakh earning per year category, which nullifies the college tuition fees, so I only have to pay for hostel and mess fees and some extra fees for safety maintenance this year, and from next year onwards the fees will decrease.The tuition fees for my college are around 64 thousand; the admission fee is around 40000 rupees; lab and other activities account for another 10000 rupees. Only this year, all will decrease as we progress. SSCs and SST categories also don't have to pay for any tuition fees. As I said, batchmates from the general area, have to pay around a lakh per year. People whose family income is from 1 lakh to 5 lakh will have to pay half the tuition fees. Much information is available; there are none in college scholarships available for students. Externally, you can apply for government or private scholarships.
