Likes

Too good study environment with better facilities available.
Professors are very polite and helpful as a teacher.
Good classrooms infrastructure including smart classes.

Dislikes

Hostel facility is not upto mark and also not enough space for more students.
Too much far away from main cities due to which essential items are not easily available.

Admission:

I only applied to this college due to its good NIRF ranking and also heard of the better environment here. I gave NEET exam but not able to crack that. To enter here you have to give SKUAST- K UET exam if you are from J&K and if you are from other states then you can take admission via ICAR councelling based on CUET exam. Most students came through SKUAST K UET and remaining through ICAR councelling. SKUAST K UET cut off vary from category to Category out of 135 UR- 80-90 ST - 60- 70 SC 50-60 OBC - 60-70 ALC - 65-75 Admission process is easy and smooth and also done offline at SKUAST K Shalimar campus

Skuast a learning platform for bright future

Hostel I liked the most with health care facilities, internet gym
Sports field are quite awesome cricket ground alongwith other grounds
Food is fantastic and clean and safe environment of the campus

Dislikes

Frequent exams , adminstration lack of student friendly administration
Cold winters and lack heating facilities for the students
There are no special circulum activities in the universityfor the students

Admission:

I don't applied to any college other than this This was my first choice Admission procedure is through university entrance test for domiciles of jammu and kashmir And also through icar test, through jrf or other states quota

Course i pursue over there is btech biotech so i love to study there
Campus is really nice and refreshing also very large area

Dislikes

Lack of administration in university makes it difficult for us
Too much festivals happening in the university

I chose this college because it nearer to my hometown and also I love to study biotechnology and there is easier for me to study and pursue my career also the faculty is very nice and honest they teach us with honesty and are available for us whenever we need them

Our college is the best college ever best teaching staff and events happening, best dean maam,best hostels and also the best people around the university, cutoff of our college is usually around 70points who get in UGC exams

Likes

The environment is pleasant and appealing.
Hostel facility is top notch when compared to hostels across India.
Lush of flora n fauna to get your research work polished to excellency.

Dislikes

Academics.... The teaching staff is worst and incapable to make student understand the concept completely.
No proper canteen facilities till date is seen. But they might put one soon.
Infrastructure is not appealing and lab works and not considered much for ug.

I applied to Bsc Agriculture and Bsc horticulture ...but was selected to Bsc Forestry. I thought of going for deep understanding of plants whilst living inside of forest and that's what this faculty gives you. The best thing about this college is that all vegetation you see here is man made and this barren land is being converted to lush green forest area. The exams for admission to this college includes CUET and SKUAST-K exams. Students can give either of them. Cut off varies each year based on number of students.

The environment of the campus is so studpent friendly, studying environment is quite good . Practical approach of teachers is fascinating
On time examination, regular examinations on time
Good internet, Library,and student oriented facilities,bus facilities

Dislikes

High intake capacity of students probably 200 students per batch that makes difficult for teachers to handle class
No sports activities,lack of sports coaches in university
Lack of heating system in university during harsh winters

Admission:

I appeared in neet and jee mains I got selected in jee mains but I didn't join that Because of my keen interest in horticulture I didn't not applied for any other college or institute I got admission in the campus through University entrance test

Campus is very beautiful with mesmerising plants and trees as it is a agricultural campus and has various agricultural fields and technologies
Faculty is very supportive and talented .Professors are highly qualified
The visits that university organises are very informative and useful for students to learn at practical level

Dislikes

Earlier there was internship scheme but now the NAHEP has dissolved and there is no foreign internship schemes
No funds for students to go for interstate internships
The hostel mess is not providing good food to the students even after taking full amount of money.

Admission:

I initially appeared for neet but was not selected because I didn't qualified enough score due to my health issues then took admission in bsc chemistry program from govt degree college. But after mid term exams i quit the degree program and appeared for skaust jammu and gave the entrance examination. The qualification for exam with 12th should be passed and the subject in higher secondary have to be medical or non medical . I was a student having both and thus appeared for the entrance got selected in 2nd councilling . Overall admission process was very friendly and the teacher present at the councilling suggested me to take horticulture as degree program which indeed was a good decision

My faculty is surrounded by hills the scenic beauty is mesmerizing
The faculty is very supportive and the studies are good
Laboratory needs improvement like practical are less and less

College is theory focused and practicals are less
Facilities are not available and sports week are not paid attention to
Toxic environment between people is created and nothing is done between them

Admission:

In comparison to other colleges that are situated in town ours is in an rural cum urban area That keeps us away from the bad things but doesn't keeps us away from oppertunity present in the town The weather is good .

The view and environment are really good for study along with faculty
Teachers and professors are highly knowledgeable
Staff and other members of the faculty are very understanding and polite

Its far from home so travelling is little bit hectic
Hostel is there but you have to be use to it otherwise you will only miss you family

I applied in delhi university and got selected but i choose this college over that due to the course preference and wide spectrum of the field I love to explore this field so this is the best course i can think about that time for my future
