The University has separate reservation categories for students studying in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. How can I get admitted to the college? What is the admission procedure?

The admission into Under Graduate and Post Graduate is done through the SKUAST-Jammu entrance test, ICAR entrance test and on the basis of the nomination of in-service candidates through state government. Admission into the B.Sc. course is done on the basis of 10+2 grade marks. For admission into the Ph.D. program, students should possess a Bachelors degree in the respective subject. The respective GPA (grade point average) is also taken into consideration while granting admission. For basic agricultural training courses, the only academic requirement is 10+2 with science while for certificate courses the student should have passed matric grade.

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) is an agricultural-engineering-based University in the state. The institute provides a great number of courses in the Agriculture department.

The courses offered by SKUAST are UG, PG, and Ph.D. The institute has 7 UG courses, 19 PG courses, and 7 Ph.D. areas.
The candidates who have cleared their higher secondary level education are eligible to apply for UG programs. The candidates who have cleared their undergraduate courses in relevant subjects are eligible to apply for PG courses.
The selection of all the courses at SKUAST Srinagar will be based on the merit list of the University Entrance Test.

Established in 2008, SKUAST was ranked 13th among State Agricultural Universities in 2018 by the National Accreditation Board of ICAR. It manages its academic operation through 13 research Centers/ Stations/ Institutes, 13 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and 01 Extension Training Centre placed in different districts of Kashmir and Ladakh Divisions of the State. I applied to Bsc Agriculture and Bsc horticulture ...but was selected to Bsc Forestry. I thought of going for deep understanding of plants whilst living inside of forest and that's what this faculty gives you. The best thing about this college is that all vegetation you see here is man made and this barren land is being converted to lush green forest area. The exams for admission to this college includes CUET and SKUAST-K exams. Students can give either of them. Cut off varies each year based on number of students.

Admission:

I initially appeared for neet but was not selected because I didn't qualified enough score due to my health issues then took admission in bsc chemistry program from govt degree college. But after mid term exams i quit the degree program and appeared for skaust jammu and gave the entrance examination. The qualification for exam with 12th should be passed and the subject in higher secondary have to be medical or non medical . I was a student having both and thus appeared for the entrance got selected in 2nd councilling . Overall admission process was very friendly and the teacher present at the councilling suggested me to take horticulture as degree program which indeed was a good decision
