I have a friend who used to be a student of NIT Goa. Based on the conversation I had with him, I can give you some information regarding the facilities offered by the institute.

Labs: There are around a hundred computers that run on Linux and Windows in the CSE lab. You cannot expect Mac in colleges. The internet availability is nice. Wi-Fi facility is available in the main building and hostels. Classrooms have projectors as well as Wi-Fi. Other department labs are also well-equipped.
Faculty: You should not keep your expectations very high because there are only a few very good teachers. But they are good enough to inspire you. There are some good faculties for cryptography and algorithms in the computer science department.
Hostel: It is not that good, but it is manageable. It has Wi-Fi and a mess where no one eats.
Campus life: The campus is nice and in a good location as well because it has a lot of greenery around. The present campus is a temporary one.

As it has been years since its establishment, students organize a lot of events which you will find entertaining.

As some of my friends studied at NIT Goa, I learnt from them that, No preparation is required to take a hostel at NIT Goa.

NIT Goa provides all the necessary facilities in their hostel rooms.
Once the student reaches the hostel campus, the staff will complete the registration process and room allotment process.
For the registration process, the documents such as the proof of admission in the college, fee receipt, identification proof, and other required documents should be taken to have a hassle-free registration process.
The room would be allotted with two more extra students.
Each student is provided with a table, a chair, and a cupboard for their own particular needs.

NIT Goa is still operating from its temporary campus located at Farmagudi, Goa which is approximately 29 km from the state capital at Panaji. It is functioning temporarily from the campus of Goa Engineering College (GEC).

Due to its limited facilities, it currently offers accommodation to only outstation students. However, only 2 options are available - a shared accommodation on campus or in a rented building close to the campus.

For students who are natives of Goa, the institute does not provide any accommodation facilities. You can either travel to and fro the campus or take up privately rented apartment rooms and PGs in the college vicinity.

According to some of my friends studying at NIT Goa, their hostel facilities are not that great in all terms be it food, internet, and cleanliness.

No one can find good food at any hostel but it at least should be hygienic.
The internet speed is also not that great and on top of that students use that for entertainment purposes.
When it comes to cleanliness, It is even worse than the food and the internet.
The hostel which NIT Goa provides in the final year is the worst. It is recommended that you stay outside rather than live in the hostels like the M.Tech students.
The only thing you need to do to stay out of the hostels is to manage the transportation, and then you are good to go.

Hence, it is quite evident that it's not worth staying in the NIT Goa hostels and a student should prefer to stay out as paying guests or flats.
