SGPA to percentage conversion at JNTUH (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad):
JNTUH uses the following formula:
Percentage = SGPA × 10 (for the semester GPA)
for cumulative (CGPA to %):
Percentage = CGPA × 10
example: SGPA of 8.2 ? 82%. CGPA of 7.6 ? 76%.
this is the standard JNTUH conversion used officially. for final transcripts and job applications, this formula is what JNTUH certifies. some companies/universities may ask for official equivalence — JNTUH issues a conversion certificate through your affiliated college or directly on request. check jntuh.ac.in for the official circular on grade point to percentage conversion applicable to your batch.

Choosing between colleges requires evaluating multiple factors aligned with your career goals and personal preferences.
Key comparison points:
Visit campuses, talk to current students, and review official placement reports. Your decision should balance academic quality, career prospects, and personal comfort.
NIT Warangal is a renowned college. You can choose it if the NIT tag matters to you. Even civil students can sit for some IT companies during campus placements at NITW. But for that, you’ll have to take out time and study the important concepts of CS. The civil curriculum is good at NITW, but you’ll face difficulty in getting a core job.
On the other hand, JNTUH is also a good college. If studying CSE is your passion, you should choose this option. In this case, don’t seek the college name, and instead, opt for your branch of interest.
JNTUH will offer you good placements, and so will NITW. But if you choose Civil, you might not get a core job. You’ll have to learn coding on your own to land a good IT job during campus placement.
Unfortunately, there is no proper answer to this question. In reality, GATE qualifiers are preferred by JNTUH over PGECET rank holders. Even Rank 1 in PGECET can not guarantee your admission to JNTUH.
But to give you a concrete number, you must get at least rank 50, unless you want a less popular branch like Biomedical Engineering. But then again, most of the seats are filled at JNTUH by GATE qualifiers.
It will be better if you prepare for GATE instead of PGECET, to get an M.Tech seat in JNTUH or Osmania.
Unfortunately, the ground reality is very grim for TS PGECET candidates. For example, there is a candidate who marginally cleared GATE, and then, there’s another who scored rank 1 in TS PGECET. Both will have their names on the counseling list, but the GATE qualifier will be given priority over the TS PGECET topper. This makes your chances of getting into OU and JNTUH very slim as the competition is quite high for both these colleges.
JNTUH awards gold medals to its meritorious students. Those who score the highest percentage in their respective degrees at JNTUH (including its affiliated colleges) are awarded gold medals.
Those who score 70% or above in their degree, get a distinction/grade certificate. On the other hand, those who score less than 70% are given a first class certificate.
