GITAM Visakhapatnam Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

PROS: 1) I choose this college because of its good reputation in the city, and providing good placement opportunities bringing in reputed MNC's.2) It has experienced faculty in the management field who hold a Phd degree.

Faculty, Environment , Placement and the fee structure was good and it have many opportunies to behave like managers and they teach how to deal in corporates. They provide us with different courses that is to deal with foreing universities. i would say overall its good.

It's in my home town and there are good at getting the Placements for students. Admission process is simple and quick. College infrastructure is well structured and there is an ample amount of space in the campus for students.

Placements hold the main criteria for any student while choosing a college. Gitam provides above 90 percent placements for computer science students .though University claims that they provide 100 percent placement but it's not true but above 90 percent of students are definitely get placed in campus placements. Gitam provides every student to access above 4000 courses in Coursera platform which helps students in upgrading their skills and getting themselves placed in placements There is a separate placement cell on-campus that especially handles all the placement related issues and the career guidance centre takes care of training and profile building of students. Internships are also provided through the Internshala platform. The highest package in last year placements is 18 lakh provided by Amazon and least package is 3.5 lakh per annum Companies like TCS, cognizant etc are bulk recruiters for universities and MNCs like Amazon, Microsoft does visit the college for placements. My plans include abroad study.

Placements are very good here, I think 22 lac per annum is the package offered this year while the average goes to 6 lakh package according to me it's a decent package overall I am satisfied with this college. The least package offered was 3.5 lakh per annum that can be improved after joining in the job based on performance. Here they believe that if a student doesn't have a backlog over all the 4 years they are definitely gonna placed in placements. We also have a portal for this called the placements portal, where the experienced professors and other people teach us how to get higher salary during the placements.

Coming to the placement this college has highest number of passouts even during the pandamic . The highest package offered recently was 22 lakhs that has been offered by Amazon company the average package given here is 5 lakh per annum and while the lowest package offered was 3.5 lakh per annum. In this college nearly 80 percent of 100 passports were got placed in recent years. Most of the companies visiting are Tcs ,Amazon , microsoft Infosys , high reputation banks and others. My plan is get settled in the best job offered in the placements with a minimum salary of 12 lakh per annum. Here we have a placement portal which is for guiding 3rd and final year students for getting better job with high salary during the placement time. Passouts from this college are settled in other companies which are not coming to placements for this college.

The chances of Science students getting into placements is less as the number of companies that come for recruitment is very less. Because students don't get placements after bachelor's, students opt for masters in government colleges with better placements.

7th semester more than 100 mnc and mba and government and biotechnical companies visit my campus every year. tcs last year took 242 students, cognizant 200 Accenture 230, etc,100% students will be placed in their dream career, for few years I will do the job after reaching my expectations to earning I will start my own business

This is the best college in Visakhapatnam after Andhra university. I have joined this college because I like the atmosphere and culture of the college. The admission process starts with a common entrance test. This college provides all the facilities with excellent faculties, good college atmosphere and aesthetics.

Most of the recruiting companies adopt the following standard campus recruitment process for selection of students, shortlisting for every stage: 1. Pre- Placement talk. 2. Written Test (Online/Offline). 3. Group Discussions. 4. Interview by Technical experts. 5. Final interview by HR experts. Students must have a minimum attendance of 85% to attend the campus placements or to participate. Some companies put some rules and regulations like they must have 70 - 80% of marks with no backlogs. Amazon doesn't visit our campus every year. They visited once in 2013 or 2011. Even Google too doesn't visit our campus at all. So who want to get placements in dream companies like google and amazon, it is not the right college for them. If they want they can attend offline interviews to get job by knowing some people and get referred through them and attend the interviews.
