The admission process for Gitam University involves attending the GAT test conducted by the University and performance in the GAT test decides the admission. Usually, the test will be held in online mode at specified exam centres but for 2 years University is conducting exams online where students can write from their home itself (the test will be AI proctored). Along with gitam, I have applied for universities like VIT and SRM but the main reason for choosing gitam is scholarship. depending on the performance in the GAT exam University provides financial assistance to meritorious students which include 100 percent scholarship for eligible students. After the results, University will contact eligible students for further counselling process and student can choose the course of their interest. The whole counselling process is online and is very easy .there is no minimum age for the particular course and also there is a reservation for courses so it doesn't matter what quota that you have.

B.Tech with artificial intelligence and machine learning is the course I have chosen at Gitam University. I have chosen this course because of the high demand and value for artificial intelligence and many companies and people's interest are in Artificial intelligence. Coming to faculty student ratio it is very high many teachers are very well qualified and have a lot of experience in the teaching field all the teachers are PhD holders. Quality of faculty is very good as all the teachers are PhD holders and teachers are very friendly in nature clarifies every doubt the student raises and provide material to study .teaching method is also very good the course objectives are clearly explained and students strictly follow teaching schedule and teach very well. For our batch, we had module exams for every 3 weeks and 5 module tests are considered as mid exams and semester exam for every 3 months is conducted. Passing exams is easy but for higher grades hard work is necessary.

Gitam has tie ups with platforms like Internshala and monster etc which are leading platforms for internships searching Gitam students have free access to these platforms so that students can find their interests and apply for internships of their choice and build a profile. Internshala also provides courses required for those internships so that students can learn from the platforms to develop their skills and get internships. As I am a first year student I cannot expand more on this internships matter as I am not completely aware of internships But all our classmates along with me were provided access to Internshala and Coursera platforms for developing skills and building profile.

Placements hold the main criteria for any student while choosing a college. Gitam provides above 90 percent placements for computer science students .though University claims that they provide 100 percent placement but it's not true but above 90 percent of students are definitely get placed in campus placements. Gitam provides every student to access above 4000 courses in Coursera platform which helps students in upgrading their skills and getting themselves placed in placements There is a separate placement cell on-campus that especially handles all the placement related issues and the career guidance centre takes care of training and profile building of students. Internships are also provided through the Internshala platform. The highest package in last year placements is 18 lakh provided by Amazon and least package is 3.5 lakh per annum Companies like TCS, cognizant etc are bulk recruiters for universities and MNCs like Amazon, Microsoft does visit the college for placements. My plans include abroad study.

As said earlier the basic tuition fee is 3 lakh per annum for a computer science course in Gitam but depending on the performance in the GAT exam University provides financial assistance for merit students. Top 50 rankers get percent assistance. 50-500 rankers get 75% financial assistance. 500-1000 rankers get 50% assistance in the fee. 1000-3000 rankers get 30% assistance in tuition fee. In the above mentioned way, the financial assistance is provided to students in their tuition fee and hostel fee is separate and hostel fee varies depending on the type of room we choose (Ac/non Ac).for Ac rooms the monthly fee is 8500 and a separate Ac bill is provided after every month. For non AC rooms, the monthly fee is 7000 rs.

Campus Life at Gitam is un regrettable as University has a very big campus full of greenery and has a great location .vizag campus of gitam is just opposite of Rushi Konda beach in Vizag and the campus has many parks on campus with canteens, general store market, indoor stadium, outdoor stadium etc. There are many clubs on campus which includes sports clubs, dramatics,kalakriti club, Rotaract club,gusac, coding clubs and a lot more. Gitam has a very big library named knowledge resource centre has lots of books and journals in the library Each class have amenities like a projector and wide space with wifi enabled. Sports facilities ... There is an indoor stadium On campus and a gym and facilities for games like chess, table tennis, basketball, badminton are available. One cricket stadium and another big ground for playing any other games is provided The online website is available for registering for those games and can play at those times. Many fests (about 5 per month as said by senior's).

The hostel facility is really good and rooms are very neatly maintained. Each room has 3 members with 3 charging ports right behind the beds with 3 study tables and 3 cupboards with hi-speed broadband connection are provided for every room. The attached bathrooms are not available but sufficient bathrooms are provided for each floor. Coming to the food quality. Food quality and taste are very nice. Milk with bread butter and jam with eggs are provided daily morning and some of the other juice every night is provided. the hostel fee is inclusive of the mess fee so there is nothing we have to pay separately for the mess. Every student who opts for a hostel facility is eligible for mess and no special registration is required. There are some hotels like stanza living etc around campus some of my friends live there. Everything about the hostel is very good except for the common washrooms sometimes we will have to adjust.
