Typically, Applied Mathematics is a combination of mathematical science and specialized knowledge that has application in real life situations such as data analysis, statistics, and economics, business and banking, and also astronomy.
The program is designed to educate eligible candidates about mathematical methods like the abstract science of number, quantity, and space, also as abstract concepts that are used in the field of science, engineering, business and industry.
Successful postgraduates of the course interested in pursuing higher studies in the discipline may go for M.Phil. or Ph.D. in the subject, or pursue further research.
One of the principle objectives of the course is to build in enrolled students an advanced understanding of numerical-analytical skills and purposeful competency in Applied Mathematics. The program involves deeper and elaborate applications of mathematical techniques which are applied to general principles outside the scope of theoretical mathematics.
