HBTU: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 441 Reviews

The faculty at HBTU is highly qualified, with most holding PhDs, and many having degrees from prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. Particularly in departments like Chemical Engineering, Electronics, and Plastic Technology, the professors are experienced and knowledgeable, often involved in research and technical writing. There is a good faculty-to-student ratio, often cited as 1:50 or 1:80, allowing for approachable and supportive interactions. However, some issues are noted with guest faculty who may not meet the same standards.

The faculty employs a traditional teaching approach, with some criticism regarding a lack of innovation. Exams are structured with two mid-semester exams worth 15 marks each and end-semester exams worth 50 marks, with additional internal assessments making up 100 marks per subject. There is a focus on practical application and research, bolstered by guest lectures and industry-relevant insights.

Faculty:

Faculties to student ratio is good enough. But faculties are not much involved with students Thats why practical knowledge is going down Old curriculum is a major problem syllabus needs to change. Divya somvanshi maam from physics department she is an assistant professor her style if teavhing is good. Help students a lot. Loyal with work. There arelot of faculties who behave like they are against students. They dont give marks if your CGPA is compromising with 1 mark. The exam pattern is simple there are 2 mid terms exam of 15 marks and 1 end semester exam of 50 marks in 1 semester and 20 marks for assessment which comes under your faculty. The difficulty level is very low especially in 1st year you can easily pass the semester with studying 1 night before the exams. Most of the students get pass but few get back in a particular subject no worry for them they can clear it in carryover paper with fees of 1000.

Faculty:

Faculty to student ratio is around 1:80. I liked my maths, digital electronics and electronics faculties. I liked the input and hardwork they put in to clear our concept. I hate the faculty of ssdc and analog electronics. In last semester he intentionally gave back to most of the students. There are in total three exams per semester for theory subject and two for Lab related subject. Two mid sems of 15 marks eachand end sem of 80 marks and T.A. of 20marks and for lab, one mid and one end of 15 and 50 marks 15 for lab exam and rest for T.A.

Faculty:

Faculty-to-student ratio is 1:80 (it may vary from branch to branch). Generally, all professors are easily approachable. One can go cabin of professors to ask their doubts or take future guidance, etc. There are three exams in each semester, 2 mid-semester and 1 end semester. The semester consists of 15 marks each, and the end semester consists of 50 marks. And 20 marks are from internal (which is provided by faculty based on the performance of students). Students receive grades based on this only (15+15+50+20=100)

There are 2-3 faculties for every subjects for a strength of 80 students and in subjects like Workshop Practice there are 16-17 faculties. Faculties from the Chemical branch are very chill and supportive but Faculties from Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Engineering are very strict. The exams can aced easily in just a week before them.

Faculty:

The faculty to student ratio is fairly average not very less and serviceable based on your skills they are failure approachable and helpful in guiding you. Mostly chemical technology branches faculty members are more helpful in personal opinion. There are different kind of people in every college in terms of faculty but no professor is such that they are unlikable in fact they are pretty helpful. It's all about your skill of conversation. So in terms of exams you have two mid semester examinations which consist of 15 marks and one end semester examination which is the final exam consisting of 50 marks each subject. The exams are fairly decent based on difficulty you can quite easily pass if you study well. If you do not study regularly and are not serious in the examination you might get failed. The course curriculum here is as relevant as in any other engineering College with an exception of IITs. But the courses on par based on the technical knowledge and understanding. It's also up to you how much knowledge you can squeeze out of the course for the given faculty with their experience they can even guide you further even if the college does not have required research infrastructure the faculty can guide you to any extent again it comes to your convincing and conversation skills.
