FAQs on Admission at University of Bedfordshire

Ques. With Class XII CBSE English at 72%, does this waive the IELTS 6.0, even if my state board transcripts show lower English marks?
Ans. Yes, it fully waives the requirement.

- State Marks are Secondary: Your state board transcripts are secondary but can be included to strengthen the overall application.
Ques. My university is not UGC-listed or NAAC A-grade. Can my degree still qualify for UoB PG admission in 2026?

- You may need to provide an official verification letter from the college or use an equivalence report (WES/ECA) to confirm the degree's standing.

| PSW Shortening | Limits job hunt | Opt for an 18-month MBA placement; network via UoB Careers Hub for HPI visa. |
FAQs on UoB Student Visa
Ques. How do 2026 PSW cuts affect UoB MBA grads?
Ans. If graduating pre-2027, full 2 years—88% secure £28K+ roles (HESA 2025). Post-2027: 18 months, but UoB's London links help transitions to Skilled Worker visas; 40% Indians return to TCS/Deloitte anyway.
Ques: With £10,539 funds needed, can family sponsors cover it?
Ans. Yes—affidavit + sponsor's 6-month statements (₹12L+ equiv); no collateral for loans. Avoid cash proofs; digital bank apps (e.g., HDFC) work.
Accommodation in Luton
Luton's affordability (£1,000–1,200/month total) draws budget Indians, but students note its "rough edges" (petty theft, limited nightlife) vs. London's vibrancy. UoB guarantees first-year halls for internationals, easing arrival. Over 70% Indians share off-campus.
Options for 2026:
- On-Campus: Fitzroy Court/Luton Village—en-suites £125–150/week (£500–600/month, bills incl.); guaranteed, fraud-free.
- Off-Campus: Amber/Rightmove shared flats £400–550/month (bills extra £100); avoid scams via uni portal.
- Summer/Short-Term: £29/night in Village halls—ideal for visa wait.
| Category | Estimated Cost (GBP/Month) | Indian Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Rent (Shared) | £400–600 | Use Amber for verified lets; deposit £500–800. |
| Utilities/Bills | £80–120 | Included in halls; energy crisis eases in 2026. |
| Food/Transport | £120–150 | Indian stores in Luton; Uber £10 to airport. |
University of Bedfordshire Career Services
UoB's employability edge (95% in 6 months, HESA 2025) shines for Indians: 92% PG grads in high-skilled roles, with London proximity fueling internships (70% uptake). Careers Hub offers weekly fairs, CV clinics, and LinkedIn coaching—tailored for PSW transitions.
Services & Opportunities:
- Internships: Built-in for UG/PG (e.g., AI/Robotics: London tech firms); optional 18-month placements add £10K exp.
- India Outcomes: 20% alumni at Infosys/Wipro/TCS (2025 UoB survey); MBA: PMP-aligned for Indian consultancies. Avg UK start £28K–35K (~₹35L–44L); India return: ₹15–25L boost.

Ques: How does UoB rank for Indian MNC jobs?
Ans. Strong for practical fields (e.g., 30% alumni at TCS via equivalence); less for elite finance—leverage internships/PSW for edge over Indian B-schools.
Student Wellbeing and Cultural Integration
- Mental Health: 24/7 counseling (multilingual via Unitemps), drop-ins; Oct 2025 events (e.g., Luton Campus fun activities).
- Integration: Desi/Hindu/Sikh societies for Holi/Diwali; cricket via off-campus clubs (no ground, but Wembley access).

Pros/Cons from Reviews:
- Pros: Affordable (£15K fees), 95% jobs, supportive faculty (8/10 Collegedunia).
- Cons: Luton "rough/boring," low ranking hurts CV prestige—Reddit: "Choose for skills, not name."
| UoB vs. Alternatives | Fees (GBP/Year) | Ranking (Guardian 2026) | Employability | Why for Indians? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UoB | £14K–17K | 89th | 95% | Budget PSW; 1,000+ Indians. |
| Coventry | £15K–18K | 50th | 92% | Similar practical; better facilities. |
| Middlesex | £14K–16K | 100th | 90% | London campus; higher prestige. |
The University of Bedfordshire (UoB) offers a high-return pathway for Indian students: a total investment of ₹19–20 Lakhs (fees + living) typically leads to a starting UK salary of £28K–£35K within six months (HESA 2025). The university's 80% acceptance rate and quick 1-2 week offer times allow students to secure their CAS much earlier than their peers. UoB is highly accessible for graduates from Tier-2/3 Indian colleges, requiring only 55% - 60% entry, accepting gaps with experience, and requiring no GRE/GMAT. Furthermore, the availability of up to £3,000 in automatic scholarships and optional 18-month placements helps create a PSW-ready CV.

- Like the campus and accommodation events.
Dislikes
- Student Information Desk people are very helpful.
Campus Life
- There are many clubs such as every subject has its own club, Religious clubs as well, sports clubs, and many more. Many activities and events took place when it was Diwali, they organised a Diwali event where we did pooja and then they distributed prasad as well. When there was Ramadan, the same happened.
- The library is very huge. it's its building with 7 floors and a lot of books and e-books are accessible. They also help us with our assignment writing as well.
Fees
- Total tuition fees - 16000 pounds.
- Units: Leading people in creative teams, Risks and procurement management, Project management practices and Project operations.
Likes
- I feel very proud to be a student of this university as it is one of the most reputed University in UK.
- The environment is very chill and the faculties are very supportive and encouraging.
- The university offers wide range of courses with focus on employability with many offering a year in industry or work placement.
Dislikes
- The campus feels smaller. It did not meet my expectations.
- The lack of variety of sports like cricket which I love to play in my leisure time.
- The hostel prices are high due to which I have to live on rent which is far away from my University, leading to transportation inconvenience.
Overview
I chose this University because this is internationally recognised and award winning university with the heritage of quality of education going back more than 100 years. First you need to submit you IELTS score wiith a minimum score of 6 bands. Then they send you an offer letter within 1 or 2 weeks. After that, they will share the payment process and you have to submit the fees accordingly. I took classes from Aim Overseas to prepare for my interview exam.
Campus Life
The classmates are very friendly in nature and very supportive. There is a cafe in the university where you can avail student discount. There are students from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Columbia, Bangladesh, Nepal and many more.Library facilities are very appreciable. All the necessary facilities are easily available to students. You can also borrow laptop without any charges just by showing your id for your university work. Majority of sports facilities are available but one thing that I miss is Cricket.

Likes
- The location is convenient as it is closer to London. It is easy to find accommodation and it is cheaper compared to London.
Dislikes
- Uni has a very good teaching infra but they hardly use it.
Overview
I chose this university as it was the only available institute when I was applying.
Campus Life
It is usual, all facilities are available. Specially it has 4 cafeterias.
Overview
I consulted Career Connection Consultancy which is located in Valsad. I took coaching from the consultancy itself for IELTS preparation and the Consultancy guided me right from the beginning till the end till I migrated to the United Kingdom. The accommodation was also arranged by the consultancy itself. The consultancy helped me make the right choice of selection for the course and university. After migrating to the UK there was a constant support from the consultancy so that we don't feel homesick in the new country away from the family.
Campus Life
Campus Life was totally a different experience. The university is surrounded by diverse people from all around the world. There are different facilities like the library, with a huge database of books that can be issued any time along with the 24-hour open access to students. There is a sports club as well, students with an interest in sports can get involved. There is a cafeteria for one to grab food. The medical facility is also provided by the university. All the students are enrolled for a free NHS.
