University of Edinburgh Placements: Top Recruiters, Salary, MBA Placements

- RA and TA jobs are not easy to get as master's students as they are mostly taken by PhD students. However, other on-campus jobs include opportunities like Library assistant. Usually, the hourly wage is 11-12 GBP. Maximum working hours during term-time is 20 hours per week. It is not very easy to secure campus jobs as there are several students with varied experience applying for those jobs. - There is a huge mix of ethnicities and every student irrespective of ethnicity is located in various areas across the student, so it is not easy to answer ethnicity-specific questions for a huge city University like the University of Edinburgh. - The percentage varies from course to course. I don't have access to the information other than the one already available online. The same goes for the salary range. Students find jobs using campus portals and careers services' help, LinkedIn, reaching out to people, online platforms like Indeed, etc. We don't receive information about other students. There are no campus placements so companies don't hire directly from the campus.

I'm working remote on a part-time voluntary, unpaid internship at the Institute for Neuromarketing based in Croatia. I mailed them to get in touch after which I had a series of tests and interviews to get the internship.

The careers service at the university helps a lot of students get employment even if you passed out for years. They are dedicated and you can book an appointment whenever needed.

I chose Edinburgh because I have been here before and l love the city. Plus, the university has great resources and a fascinating history. The faculty is renowned and the research put is also great.

I chose the university for its ranking but when I applied the ranking was 16 in the world now it is 27 in the world according to QS. I now realize that ranking plays a very small part in the facilities provided, as all universities here offer the same facilities. My experience has been average as according to me the university didn’t provide adequate academic support that students needed in terms of subjects that were new and challenging for most of my class. As a class representative, I took a lot of the concerns to them and the university didn’t do anything about the problems we faced as international students.

For most of the MSC program placement is not provided directly by the university. They have many support services that will help you with the review of your CV, one-on-one mock interview process or even discussion about prospective jobs. Research opportunities are provided via many projects that are industry supported, which means that you will work in collaboration with industries, but the ones that doesn't have any good opportunities to depict your skills in your CV.

I did not opt for an internship at a co-op, but I have done. Various certifications are supported by AWS, Google, Microsoft, IBM, et cetera.

Well, it isn't easy to find a job or PhD position. I am currently struggling to find research opportunities. I would say there is not much support from the University in that department.

No I couldn't. There was too much pressure and the program is extremely hectic.

The university student development team will help you with networking, CV, Cover letter, mock interview and will organize job fair. But don't expect that the companies will come to the university for job interview like India

Not good. Because of recession there is no jobs. There is no concept of campus placements here. So hunting jobs is difficult.

My overall experience is great. It’s a good learning phase in terms of personal growth. Living abroad alone is challenging but exciting.

We don't have campus placements, but we do get the opportunity to be a research fellow only if have good research ideas.

Not very great. Psychology students don't have many placement options. they are usually required to study further to get more qualification to practice in the UK.

I worked with Supporting Positive Paths which was a group that worked with adults with Down syndrome. I got 11 pounds an hour. Also worked at a catering company called Off To Work and got 11.9 pounds an hour.
