Colleges Where I Was Accepted
Reason for choosing my college
- From Career Point of View: I was interested in renewables, which needs Aerospace related support hence, Swansea
- From Personal Point of view: wanted a secluded countryside environment it has a beach close by to relax the university was more welcoming than other
Colleges Where I Was Rejected
Reason for Rejection
- I am not exactly sure why; the applications and the formats used were almost similar but university of Cambridge turned out to be a no-go. On the other hand, Imperial college had accepted the application but had a short window to accept the offer and provide the funds, whereas the banks in India were unable to process the loans within that short window. It could have been helpful if i had some support from 3rd party counsel.

Tips to enhance your application
- Keep your requirement plain and simple. The content matters so much and frankly, universities seek diversified portfolios; hence, the career goal you are seeking must be precise and determined strongly. Take support from the standard format available in the university portals (almost all the universities provide templates)
Admission Experience
- The UK was always my go to and it was the shortest distance to India, making it easier to transfer my family as well. It was the top university in Aerospace engineering. It had almost 300 Courses specific to many careers. It was close to a beach, making it the ultimate recommendation to people who love beaches.
- They had well-rounded university support and fantastic alumni support. I loved the university overall; I would recommend it to anyone who is seeking a master's degree. My only problem was the pandemic happened during my period.
Class Schedule
- There were 3 to 4 classes a day and a total of 22 classes a week. Class timings vary from 1 hour to 3 hours sometimes also. Since it was a master's course, we had 15 to 20 people. A few classes had over 45 to 50 people, which were for ethics and economic calculations.
- I and one more person was there but within the program, I chose 1 year of course and 1 year of internship and the other chose 1.5 years of course and 0.5 thesis. I hardly spent 2 hours since my caliber was better. to an extent, I would say 3-4 hours per day should do. I meant in addition to regular classes. Moreover, the library, the lab and everything else are open 24/7 on any day, so people can have the liberty to catch up on any topic they want, as all the sessions were recorded as well.
Faculty
- Faculty were wonderful, very knowledgeable and extremely good at their topics; all of them have doctorates, as the college norm suggests. I had two; one is named Dr. Alison and the other one, Dr. Mike. On a personal level also, they are good; one of them supported on my part time job as well
Campus Life
- It had two campuses. student pass for almost everything were there, from Accommodation to commuting and from restaurants to clubbing. every Wednesday was a sports day and you were free to join any game. A few were paid but made sense due to tournaments. there was more than 100 societies in the university, and almost all were active. Every Friday was a popular event and most clubs had student passes.
Part Time Jobs
- On average, on campus, they prefer there to always be a Tesco on campus, my Uni hub, and sports most of the time. part time are still difficult to get because mostly the requirements are pretty low.
- On average, 8 pounds will be paid hourly and for 20 hours per week, we can manage all the expenses, as the living cost was cheaper than in many parts of the county.
- I got a store assistant job; research assistants need to have some closeness with the faculty as well. They pay anywhere between 7.5 pounds and 12 pounds an hour, depending on where you work. On-campus jobs will be posted very frequently in my uni hub of the university portal. maximum and minimum is already determined in the visa and it cannot be allowed more than that.
Placement
- As per the statistics, when i joined 8/10 were getting a job within 6-12 months, and the average pay for an undergrad was 23k-30k and for a postgraduate, it was 33k-40k. I didn't have much chance due to COVID, and i am unable to review this particular requirement.
- As far as the opportunities that were posted were backed up by the universities, many companies preferred diverse people.
Accommodation
- My accommodation was in a student village. as soon as you confirm the university, they provide the preferred accommodations in the vicinity and we can pick anything we want. I preferred student village because it was mandatory to show accommodation to the loan-lending bank. I had zero challenges getting accommodation; I got the place confirmation within 2 days after my application to the student village.
