Dislikes
- Too many Indians: Some may feel that there are too many Indian students pursuing a Master's. But that is the case for almost all Universities in the UK.
- Few On-Campus Accommodations: Very few on-campus accommodations force the rest of the students to live far from campus.
- Huge Campus: Huge campus may sometimes act as a disadvantage, especially when you are late for class and have to run to make it.
Course Curriculum
- The difficulty level of my course curriculum was 8/10 I would say, it was a mix of both theoretical and practical.
- Around 2-3 classes of 2 hours each are typically scheduled in a day. Breaks are given in between the classes on the hour mark.
- The average number of students in my class was 80. But this may change as students enroll in some popular courses, the number may go up to 250-300.
- My class only had 4 Indian students, but this number is higher in other courses such as MSc in International Business and MSc in Marketing or International Marketing.
Admission Experience
- QMUL: Offered but I rejected the offer as living in London could have been way too expensive and UOB ranking was higher than QMUL.
University of Bristol: Rejected
University of Manchester: Did not get any reply from the University of Manchester, I may have missed paying application fees of 50 pounds.
University of Birmingham: Offered and accepted the University. - Birmingham was host to Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022, which opened doors for me to participate in the hosting of sporting events and meet world-class athletes. There is no January intake for the University of Birmingham. There are many factors which influenced my decision, and I have mentioned them all in my previous answers. The whole admission process takes around one month from the day you apply and another month is given to pay a deposit of your fees in order to confirm your admission.
Faculty
- I admire all my faculty members as they all are top-ranked researchers in Finance which makes them stand out.
- One faculty may divide the batch into 2 sections if the batch size is large. This helps in understanding the subject in depth. Yes, the teaching approach is sufficient to prepare us for securing a job.
- Regarding the part time jobs, it depends on faculty to faculty, they may have some data work which they can offer to students to do part-time.
Campus Life
- The university has only one campus.

- My accommodation was situated right in the middle of the city center and university. It was 10 mins to the city center and around 12-15 mins to the University by bus.
Exams
- IELTS is usually required with a minimum score of 6.5 overall and at least 6 in each section.
- However, the University may exempt the IELTS test requirement if the student has good marks in the English language in 12th Grade (More than 85). I had an IELTS exemption from the university.
