What Students Say
Likes
- The campus and facilities are top-notch
Dislikes
- International students are helpless in this job market
Course Curriculum
- The course was pretty good
- It was a conversion course
- Industrial exposure is not given as such with the course, apart from a few projects, but the School of computer science have multiple opportunities to participate in the Industry
- There were programs like Be Experienced and a few other initiatives from the career team where we could work in the industry and get paid for it.
Admission Experience
- Because it was one of the top Russell Group universities. My IELTS was around 8, which was the only requirement.
Faculty
- Faculty is top class, they are all PhD holders with multiple projects under them
- They usually work in both campuses, which are in Birmingham and Dubai
- They are also from diverse backgrounds
Campus Life
- There are lots of events throughout the year, with hundreds of clubs, each club having its own event throughout the year
- One notable thing is that we have our own Guild of Students, which is an independent body (run by students) that governs these clubs
- Sports were also one of the core things that were encouraged. If you were living in the campus accommodation, there were active residence games and activities
- The library is one of the best in the Midlands. They are open 24 * 7 during the exam period, and they even provide blankets
- overall there are hundreds of spots on the campus for studying, for meetings, and the infrastructure they provide to students is second to none.
Part Time Jobs
- Part-time opportunities are abundant but also of very short duration; you cannot depend on them to make a living
Placement
- I would say very little, for international students in my batch i guess around 3-4 out of 60-70.
Accommodation
- Rent was 159 pounds a week, which was one of the Uni accommodation, this was the best decision I made because I found my best friends here, and it was very convenient in every possible way; it was home away from home. I found the accommodation through the uni accommodation site.
Exams
- IELTS was the only requirement, and they basically looked at my profile holistically. SOP, letter of Recommendation were important.
Fees
- 32000 pounds
