Reason for choosing my college
- This college is associated with Formula 1; many of the Indian alumni are working in F1 and big OEMs, and they have a good set of faculties.
- The university has a good Formula Student team. The library is good; the fees compared to other universities are less.
- Cons:
- In MSc, they do not give any hands-on experience in automotive engineering, and the courses are designed with simulation-based projects.

- I was short on cash so I applied, which was worth money and return on investment in the UK.

- A good CV in UK format.
- LOR from your workplace and from the university. Well-crafted SOP with respect to the course you are applying.

Admission Experience
- I chose the UK since they are giving a two-year stay back and it is the hub of motorsport.
- The college is considered one of the top in the world of motorsport engineering. It is ranked around 416 in QS World. Motorsport Engineering and Electric Vehicle Course.
- Oxford, also known as Motorsport Valley, is surrounded by 6 out of the 10 Formula 1 teams and other automotive companies.
- The courses are designed with the latest trends, The university has an Indian Union as well.
Class Schedule
- For engineering, the classes are on average 4 days a week; some weeks it can be 5 days or 3 days depending on individual practical classes.
- One subject is taught for 2 hours. starts at 9 am and finishes at 4 pm.
- Automotive Engineering 130+ Indians 30 to 40 Apart from class 20 hours of part-time. Most of the time is gone completing assignments.
Faculty
- Faculty-to-student ratio is not good. Each class has around 130+ students.
- The faculties are easily approachable; they help a lot if you find any difficulties in your studies or job.
- The best faculty I like is Powertrain Engineering; he is from India.
- All the faculties help to get a full-time job with their references.
Campus Life
- The college has three campuses in Oxford, i.e., Headington, Harcourt Hill and Wheatley (closed recently) and a smaller campus in Swindon focused on nursing.
- The college has all the facilities, like a library, labs, medical, and sports.
- The college has a good sports team with an Olympic medal in rowing as well.
Part Time Jobs
- Most of the Indians work in fast food restaurants and many medical students work in care homes.
- Part-time jobs in Oxford are easy to get since a lot of business happening here. You can use Indeed and apps like Stint and Indeed Flex to get work. If you know someone, that's the easy way to get the job.
- Part-time jobs are easily available both on campus and off campus.
- The university also assists you in getting a part-time job, They also organise many recruitment drives for part-time and full-time jobs.
- The hourly wage is 11.44 pounds minimum. Internships are difficult to get for international students. Max 20 hours allowed.
Placement
- It is difficult to get a full-time sponsored job for international students. But if you have some experience and a good skill set, you will get sponsored easily.
- The graduate role starts at 31500 pounds. A student finds a good job in around 1 year after graduation. 28,000 is the lowest and I have seen people getting 60,000 pound
Accommodation
- Getting accommodation in Oxford is really difficult; you should book everything 6 months in advance or start looking a minimum of 3 months prior.
- If you don't want to struggle at the last moment. Students need to show their income or parents' income to get accommodation from letting agents.
- Choose your roommate appropriately.
