- Univeristy has a bar, I know its legal but yes it has a bar
- Sometimes its difficult to track your marking for the assignments
- Amount of fees they charge and not just this university but overall all of the Universities in UK
Colleges Where I Was Accepted
Reason for choosing my college
- I prioritized the university based on its course modules, scholarship, location, campus accommodation and benefits of living in campus accommodation vs. private or private student accommodations. And also considered university fees mainly.
Colleges Where I Was Rejected
Reason for Rejection
- I kept those on the least priority and I don't remember if i got the offer letter or not and also I accepted the offer letter earlier from Oxford Brookes University. I think the application procedure for these universities took time to process or get back to students.

Tips to enhance your application
- Why are you going to masters or whatever course you have decided on? why this university over others? your background is mostly career based and what did you learn from that? choosing this university and course, how will it benefit you? and mentioning extracurricular activities apart from the academics. These are some of the main points to consider.
Admission Experience
- For the course that I was looking for, the UK is already developed in the particular field and the UK is the only country offering a 1-year master's course. I was in conversation with my other colleagues who had already done their post-graduation from this university and were of the suggestion that university ranking hardly matters when it comes to learning but also confirmed that the faculty is really experienced, which is a plus point when it comes to reputation.
- There are many courses offered, from management to business, construction, and designing, and the university is mostly known for motorsport. Location-wise, I feel it has more connectivity to other parts of UK mainly London, and is of course known for tourist locations and has many universities, so you will find more students and travellers. Talking about career opportunities, it totally depends on personal passion and how hard you are trying and it's not easy to get a job, whether it's part-time or full-time. I would say we just have to keep trying our luck.
- University is really nice; they have lots of other activities going on throughout the year, whether they are personal development career development or cultural; they have their own college bus, which is almost free of charge for those living on campus; and they also have different campus accommodations, which you can give your preferences based on what you like and can afford.
Class Schedule
- Mostly we had 2-3 days of University for 4 to 6 hrs a day. Some classes are combined with different courses depending on the modules and approximately 20 students per course so there were 4 different courses for the some field and around 80% were Indians.
- You have to manage your time accordingly if you are doing part time and it also depends on personal capabilities of managing the work but the deadlines are back-to-back and sometimes the deadlines are overlapped so we have to manage the time wisely. Most of the coursework is dependent on more research, which requires a lot of time.
Faculty
- Every module has 2 faculties and I feel there are no best or bad faculties as they don't discriminate when it comes to marking assignments or even in class and assignment submissions are anonymous.
- Faculties don't help get a part-time or full-time job but they guide us through what all we can do for it and sometimes we can ask for referrals. University has a career portal where they help us guide the CV and application process for job openings even for part-time roles.
Campus Life
- There are 2 campuses: one is totally for motorsport and the other for other courses, which is the main campus. Campus has almost everything from a library, where it's very easy to track any book you want to refer to, to sports teams for varied sports and medical facilities for dentistry and other things as well but over here in the UK, you have to get registered with a GP (medical facility) near your residing location, which is done online so one has to visit the same doctor whenever required unless and until there is any emergency.
- There are many events or fests happening throughout the year; there are even indian festivals celebrated, as there are more indian students and plus there is indian cultural team handling all of these events. There are many academic events as well, where sometimes we have to visit some offices or sites or there are visits by some representatives from different offices to the university. There are other benefits of an on-campus gym: sports at a discounted rate for students.
Part Time Jobs
- Mostly students work in retail stores or restaurants or some work in warehouses. Some restaurants pay you a service charge, which is legal and reflects in your pay slip as well, which is above the minimum per hour pay. Some of the night shifts in retail stores or warehouses pay you more than the minimum wage, which is also legal.
- Students can work 20 hours a week during the semester and full-time during holidays. Hourly pay for students depends on the age and is 11.44 GBP/hr as of now for those above 18 years old. It is not easy to find a part-time job; you have to hunt very hard for it, as there are huge numbers of students coming in at the same time. There are very few on-campus jobs, which are mainly in a cafe, retail store or restaurant or bar.
Placement
- According to the current market situation, there are very few students who secure their jobs in 6 months, considering experience in a particular field. Some wait for years, some wait for months and some can get it within days; it totally depends on your passion, experience and luck.
- Salary is also dependent mostly on the roles and experience so it can't be generalized, but typically it can range from 25k to 40k annually. There are different portals or social media platforms for all of the fields where students mostly apply, mainly Linkedin, Indeed, etc.
