What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is very beautiful and well kept.
- The student support services are available for all sorts of problems and can help the students in many ways possible.
- The faculty are well respected and educated and give very interesting lessons.
Dislikes
- The placement team really helps with creating your CV and making you marketable, but no direct placements.
- The campus is too huge sometimes, even though it's worth it due to it's absolute beauty.
I chose this university as it has one of the best organisational psychology courses out there, and the teaching environment was very well reputed. My experience was really nice but it was slightly hectic as the dissertation can be unorganized sometimes and needs some refining for the students.
Course Curriculum
The Course Curriculum is nice, though sometimes it could use some better structure as it can be too much to process at a time, as this is a one year course. It is well structured and thought out, but the execution of teaching practices for each topic could be handled more efficiently for subjects such as Psychological Assessments at Workplaces and Quantitative Statistics for my course.
Faculty
- Dr. Raymond Randall - Very polite and helpful, lots of experience and teaches in a very formal, yet very engaging and interesting manner. Will break down concepts into easy to understand analogies. Helped me with my dissertation as my supervisor, gave very important and precise feedback, which also helped me with future problems, very forward thinking.
- Dr. Fiona Gavin - Very fun and energetic teaching style, with loads of experience at the workplace which she uses for relevant teaching examples. Gives very realistic examples and methods to teach concepts.
- Dr. WeiWei Wang - Very good for foundational psychological concepts, she uses very informative presentations that help describe the topics into simpler parts. Has a unique way of breaking down and finding semantic meanings for topics.
- Dr. Angeli Santos - A very patient and calm teacher, who draws excellent examples from real life incidents and videos to help demonstrate certain practices and case studies. Is one of the best critical reviewers for presentations and work, gives very valuable and interactive feedback. One of the best teachers to give you the experience of a professional environment.
Campus Life
The campus has a good infrastructure for student interactions and activities, but sometimes it could use better channels to spread the news across for the same.
Placement
I won't say they are very ideal, but they do offer a lot of programs to help build up your CV, and the company fairs are slightly useful.
Accommodation
I lived at Cloister House. My accommodation was a shared accommodation, a standard room which was spacious and to myself, with 2 shared toilets, 2 shared bathrooms and shared kitchen among a flat of 7 people. It was 131 a week, with a 52 week contract, and a 250 pound security deposit. I had to pay 25 for a single bedding pack which included a duvet, a duvet cover, a pillow, a pillow cover and a fitted bedsheet for the mattress in the room.
Exams
- Required - IELTS 8, Bachelor's 6.5, English CBSE Marks 75 minimum
- My scores- IELTS 8.5, English CBSE 85, CBSE (12th) - 78%, CBSE (10th) - 68%, Amity University - BA (Hons) Applied Psychology 83% (UG)
- Requirements- I had to submit SoPs, 2 academic LORs and a CV. My SoP had to talk about why I want to do the course I chose, what inspired me and how it came to be as a goal, and why I chose the University of Nottingham in particular.
Fees
