What Students Say
Likes
- The program structure - 6 months of teaching followed by 3 months of dissertation.
- The course was quite practical in terms of the knowledge imparted and the skills developed.
- The faculty in the 2nd trimester was industry professionals who shared industry insights.
Dislikes
- The dissertation support was minimal and it wasn't conducted in an ideal manner.
- The cohort was mostly people with 0-1 years of work experience and not as diverse as I was expecting.
Required Exams for Admission
I chose this college because of the reputation and rankings of the university and its location being London. My overall experience was good, with a few pros and cons as mentioned above.
Course Curriculum
The curriculum was quite practical and relevant - the first trimester was the basics of different domains of banking and finance being taught by academicians and the 2nd was optional modules on different specialisations in the industry. There were a lot of options to choose from and really liked the option to decide what modules you want to take up.
Faculty
The faculty and staff were very supportive and knowledgeable. It was also easy to schedule a meeting with them and meet them whenever we wished to. Professor Leone Leonida was particularly popular among students for being able to help with a lot of problems and give transparent suggestions.
Campus Life
Campus life is alright, with a lot of clubs and events opportunities - but mostly undertaken by UG students and not much by PG. However, research facilities and libraries are centrally located and excellent to work in.
Placement
There are no placements in the university - placement support was offered in terms of interview preps, how to apply, etc.
Accommodation
I lived in an ensuite room in student accommodation - my cost was about £1200 per month in Zone 2 London. This accommodation was 25 minutes away from my university and highly recommended to stay within 40 minutes of the campus. The kitchen was shared by 8 people. A cheaper option would be staying on the outskirts of London in a shared apartment, where the rentals could be brought down to £600 per month easily.
Exams
- GMAT wasn't mandatory, but it benefits your application. My score: GMAT 680/800 - ICSE - 81% (10th), CBSE - 85% (12th) Christ University - BCom Hons (UG) - 3.36/4 - Requirements: SoP, LoRs, and CVs - mention your motivation to be taking your course and why KCL. Also, try and emphasise how you can contribute to the cohort. No interviews.
Fees
Tuition fees - £35,500 for 2022-23. It comes to about 40 lakhs in INR terms but might have increased now.
