My college experience

It's a place where you can have a beautiful experience and learning. You'll learn what life is, what politics is, what power is, what greed is and a hell lotta things. You'll not only gain knowledge but you will evolve as a person

The curriculum is exceptional and will introduce various branches of media. But the practical learning feels a bit outdated. The tools for learning should be updated. Exams are decent and will be testing both knowledge and creativity.

Being a unique course, this department gets decent placements and jobs. Internships provided by college will be not that great and won't offer decent job experience. But depending on the nature of the internship, the stipend will be between 3k-15k

Loads of events! Inter college culturals, intra college culturals, department symposia, celebration of festivals, sports days, special day observations, national and international conferences, research paper publishing, workshops and much more!

Completely feasible. Around 20000 per semester and the exam fee per semester is 8000. So 10 semesters will only cost 280000. Post graduate degree for just 2.8L is a bargain. Also considering the fact that it comes from Anna University - the biggest in Tamil Nadu is another feather on the cap

There are numerous scholarships and grants facilities. All the scholarships from the government like the caste based scholarships, special scholarships are applicable. There is a scholarship for sportsmen who excel when playing for the institution. There are some other merit scholarships. Also there's a grant for people who want to publish papers in bigger conferences and projects in different places.

There's a club for every extracurricular activity. There's a photography club, dance club, feminist club, literature club, arts club, science club and much more. But there will be a huge partiality and discrimination. Students from engineering department think they know it all and corrupt the clubs.

I was a day scholar. Hostel have a decent infrastructure. But there will be an intermittent water problem. Hostel premises will be clean and neat. They have a paid laundry service inside and a supermarket too.

Alumni network is totally active with people from the first batch, Till the last batch participating with regular get togethers. They also provide employment opportunities with some of them being entrepreneurs.

Post completing of 12th standard, applied with a form. The average of marks scored in the subjects except the languages will be the score based in which the ranking was alloted. As per the Ranking, a counselling date was assigned and during the counselling day, I got my seat confirmed.

College need to recruit more better faculty with some subject matter expertise on the subject they handle. Lab assistants should be recruited. More guest lectures should be arranged with people who top the media field currently.
