Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is relevant and useful, especially for students planning higher studies or students planning higher studies or cometitive exams. Many topics in the syllabus overlap with CSIR-NET preparation, which makes the curriculum beneficial in building a strong academic foundation and preparing students for future opportunites.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am pursuing B.Sc. at St. John's College, Agra. The annual fee for the Bsc course is approximately ?6200-?6500 per year (depending on the semester and category\subjest combination). there are some additional university and examination charges included in the yearly fees. For the complete 3-year B.Sc. course, the approximately total fee is around ?18, 500- ?20,000. But since my subjects was zooloy, Botany and Industrial chemistry my fee was around 15,000 becuase industrial chemistry was not government funded. The fee structure is comparatively affordable and reasonable whe compared with many other college. As per the current informantion, there has not been any major yearly increase in the fees, and the fee structure reamains mostly stable with only minor changes in university or miscellaneous charges if applicable. St. John's college primarily facilitates government-sponsored scholarship rather than offering its onw large, college-funded programs.
Campus Life
My college campus is divided into two parts: the main campus and the science campus. the campus environment is quite good and provides students with opportunities for both academic and extracurricular growth. in the science department, different departments. such as the BOTSO society of botany and ZETSO society of zoology. these association help students participate in various activities, improve teamwork, and stay engaged with thier subjects.the college is also present on social media through the official college pages as well sas individual departmental pages, which helps in sharing updates and maintaining students interaction. The infrastructure of the college is decent and continuously improving. some areas hae newly develped infrastructure, while other parts have older but welll-maintained facilities. the laboratories are properly structured and equipped for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Necessary equipement, reagents, chemicals, and specimens are available in good condition for practical learning. According to our teachers, the zoology department also has some unique specimens that make the Department more interesting for students. overall, the college provides a supportive acadimic environment with satisfactory infrastructure and facilities.
Admission
Actually I didn't apply for any other college only for this college becuse it is on my preffered location and provide my interest of course in afordable prise. and also its is in my home town even best college in agra for dicipline, study and affodability. addmision process involve a web registration of about 200 prise and after which college release merit list then couseling for seat allocation and fee submission.
Faculty
My college has a manageable faculty-to-student ration, with one teacher handling around 30-40 students in a class. For practical sessions, students are divided into Batch1 and Batch2,which helps teachers prvide better attention to every student The faculty-student reatationship is generally good , and most teachers are approachable, supportive, and willing to help students academically. My favorite department is the Botany faculty because it is highly organised and well managed. I was also a part of the Botany Society, which gave me a very positive experience. The activities and work were properly planned, and i enjoyed participation in them. Comparatively, i liked the zoology faculty less, not because it felt slightly less organized than botany. The teachers are knowledgeable and supportive, but some management and communication issues affected my experience. The college follows a semester-based examination system with theory and practical assessments. The exams are of moderate difficulty and are not very hard if students study consistently. I personally manintained around an 8.5 CPGA, showing that students can score well with regular preparation. Most students clear the exams, and failure generally happen because og attendance, preparation or personal reasons rather than because of the difficulty level. The course curiculum is relevant and useful, especially for students planning higher studies or competitive exams. Many topics in the syllabus overlap with CSIR-NET preparation, which makes the curriculum beneficial in building a stron academic foundation and preparing students for future opportunities.
Night Life
As I am day scholar student and commute daily from home, I don't have much knowledge about the night life or hostel life on campus. the college mainly operates from 9 am to 4 pm and provides facilities such as library and hostel, but is no cafeteria or gym inside the campus, outside the campus, there are several shops and cafeterias where students spend time after classes. overall, the campus environment is more academic and peaceful rather than focused on nightlife or entertainment activities. but there the some night functions like christmas night dinners and nativity programs to enjoy.
