- My overall experience at Jindal Global University has been very positive.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am in the 2nd year of the programme, and trust me its the best decision I have made. The course curriculum at JSC is more focused on doing things in labs n studios, etc. You do not learn only in filmmaking classes; you also have the opportunity to take a camera in your hands and do things manually. JSJC provides facilities like sound studios, edit suites, and dedicated spaces for filmamking. After graduation, you can pursue careers in television, graphic arts, theatre production, and more.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are part of the curriculum. The Office of Career services provides internship opportunities in various fields such as reporting, editing, public relations, communication, and digital media. Icompleted my last internship at a PR agency, where i learned from marketing experts how to rebuild a brand's image by creating awareness videos. Further, if you are in the last semester of the program and you perform well during the internship period, then the internship can convert into a full-time job opportunity.
Placement Experience
With the consistent support of the ocs, students secure good roles at top media houses, PR agencies, news networks, and international media platforms. One of the alumni of JSJC works at India Today TV as a news reporter, another at ET TV, and another at NewsX Network. These achievements are proof of the strong network of the OCS with various companies and organizations.
Fees and Financial Aid
The way to get financial aid at JGU is primarily through Merit-cum-Means scholarship. It can cover the tuition fees for students with high academic merit and low family income. This scholarship is competitive and granted on a first-come, first served basis scholarship schemes, such as the Shallu Jindal Outstanding Women Scholarship and the Savitri Jindal Merit-cum-Means Scholarship also is of great help. Both of these scholarships are for female students.
Campus Life
Last month, JSJC organized KOS MINAR 2026, which is an international documentory film festival. Those 3 days were magical for me. I met a few of the directors through my professors. And this is just one part of the entire campus life at JGU. Campus life is active, or i would say proactive, at the university. Form events to sports meets, every day there is a new opportunity for students to learn and showcase their talents. Also, there are many food spots on campus, including Chicago Pizza, Basil, Juice and More, Mahabelle, Bistro 57, and many more. But i personally prefer a cup of coffee from Starbucks in the morning and evening.
Admission
Getting admission at JGU is quite easy. It is advisable to keep an eye on the social media and the website of JGU to know about the last date of admission, the criteria for admission, and which documents you need or not. The best part is that the whole admission process is online, so there is no hassle of carrrying a copy of each document with you.
Faculty
Here at JGU, my faculty are not only academically experienced, they also bring years of professional experience, which makes the learning experience different from that at other institutions. My professor, Abhija Ghosh, has a PhD in Cinema Studies, and the way she connects with us and explains the complexities of film and media naturally is what we pay for. Other professors are also good, and they share their knowledge of other aspects of film and new media.
Night Life
My nightlife at JGU is not limited to the hostel only. I love to walk around campus after dinner. Every place on campus has proper lighting, so you can walk and even run easily. We usually spend their time at food outlets, having a cup of coffee or eating their favourite burger. The campus is properly guarded by a team of security guards.
