Dislikes

- The college timings are too strict which sometimes makes it difficult for students who are traveling from far away
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose physiotherapy because of my strong interest in clinical rehabilitation and human anatomy. The curriculum is quite compressive and prepare us well for real world clinical practise through regular postings and hand on training. There is room for improvement in teaching methods like microbiology which is currently very fast paced and theoretical adding more practical orientation sessions would be helpful. The difficulty level of there exams is moderate to high which pushes us to stay consistent with the studies throughout the session.
Internships Opportunities
Our college provide internship opportunities in multi speciality hospital and rehabilitation centres. Students work as physiotherapy interns assisting the orthopedic, neurological and sports cases. Stipend ranges from 5000 to 8000 per month.
Fees and Financial Aid
•Hostel fee first year 65000 2nd year 67500 3rd year they informed us it will be 70000 •Tution fee 45000 remaining I too don't know •In management quota it will be higher than our fee •No not coming present any scholarship
Campus Life
Campus life is quite engaging. We celebrate our annual fest, spark fest usually in December which is highlight of the year. The library is well stocked with the largest physiotherapy journals and medical textbook and it's easy to assess them. For sports the college provide facilities for cricket, badminton and indoor games.
Hostel Facilities
The facilities is average and manageable rooms are shared by more than 4 members and basic furniture like bed, cupboards, attached washrooms. Water supply is regular and wifi is not there. The mess is ok with a simple weekly menu like dal, rice, boring curries, curd, sambar and occasionally non veg food. The registration process simple through the college administration and fee structure is adorable compared to private pg. The hostel is located inside the campus and it is safe.
Admission
I applied to a few other colleges like gsl Rajahmundry and kims Amalapuram for my physiotherapy course. I got 2nd college kims Amalapuram but I chose this college because of its superior clinical exposure and better hospital tie ups.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio at konaseema institute of medical sciences is approximately 1:50 ratio making most professors quite approachable during office hours. I mostly like prasanna mam because of well teaching and caring about students. I found the subject microbiology department less effective as the lectures were strictly theoretical and fast paced. We have 3 internals exams and one final exam which is conducted by university per year the exams was quite challenging because they requires a deep understanding of both theory and clinical practicals.
Night Life
Our college night life is decent and mostly clam. The library closes at 8pm,no gym in our college, cafeteria by 7pm. Hostel in time is 9pm and boys for 10 pm. Students usually hang out in the campus garden, canteen. The area around campus is fairly safe till 10pm with regular security.
Other Applied Colleges
Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Foundation - [KIMS] | Bachelor of physiotherapy
Because Of higher fee and I am not getting scholarship here there is no good hostel facilities and hostel fee is increasing every year
