Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is very great, it has everything a student in fine arts would need to prepare to be an artist and faculties also helps you if you are lost in some way. 1st year is foundation year having everything, which makes it easy for you to think which specialization you want to opt for. And after 1st year it's also great. There are two timming for the exams mornig and after noon. 10am-1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Internships Opportunities

4

You have to make your own portfolio and have to email other artist so you can to internship under them, if you are facing problems and artist are not replying back to you, the faculties will help you as they have there own list of contacts under whom you can do internship, it can be paid internship and free too. Some artist want you to help them in their projects and some will help you teaching about all sorts of things, applied students gets to work in companies and have a bit of experies of corporate life too and they get paid and they work on the companies work only.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible in there 6-7 semester it varies in every course, in my course you become eligible in 7th semester, but with every internship you do you get a bit of contacts from which you can help yourself to earn. There are newspaper companies and macc and other animation industries, magic pin and several other agencies for graphic designers and 80% of students gets placements every year in bfa. The pakages are based on the student's works, their portfolio, minimum pakage is 4.5lacks to maximus in 12-14 lacks per annum. My plans after getting the degree is opening my own studio and work in a comic agency. And after 1 year of passout doing masters in fine arts.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees for bfa course yearly is 1lack rupees. You can apply for scholarship through cbse marks, their own lpu scholarship exam and cuet. With the marks i obtained in their scholarship exam I got 30% scholarship. If you get more than 90% in 12th standard you can get 45-50% scholarship. Registration in this university does not cost you a dime it's free of cost, no need to pay any security fees or anything, this is why it's a lot affordable, hostel charges you 1.14 lacks a year if your are sharing the room with 3 people, 1.24 lacks if sharing with 2 people, and 1.5-2 lacks if sharing with 1 people. If you already have a group of friends you can also rent a flat in the campus but it's very expensive. Other than that mess charges you 3000-4000 a month with 4 meals a day, some of the message is allright but some are very poor in quality of food, there are hardly 1-2 message that gives very good food. There is gym which is free of cost, laundry for which you have to pay 5/ piece of cloth and you will get the clothes next day. There is a library which is open 24x7, cafeteria in hostel is open 24x7, there is a playground to play several sports and there are clubs too.

Campus Life

5

As students approch from every state to our university our university organise a fest for them every year so every state can showcase their originality, every state organise a booth showcasing everything there state is known for and every other things a common person from other states does not know about there states, its a very good event as to see so many different communities together is a very beautiful scene. Coke studio organise an event every 2-3 years, there are many stand up comedy shows also. So our university is full of events. Every department has there own library having everybook you will need to pratice in you course and a main library with I actually huge and having every single book, you can also demand a book which is not there and they will buy it for there library and it will be available for you. There a student welfare wing having clubs and everything, managed my students and teachers but mainly students only, and they give you duty leaves too so you don't have to stress about your attendance.

Admission

The colleges I applied for were chandigarh university, lovely professional University, banaras hindu University, college of art delhi. I was actually preparing for college of art and banaras. Hindu University cause they are one of the best universities of bfa, but because of my low marks in 12th standard I could not able to go there, and I chose lpu over chandigarh university because the reviews of lpu were very good and there were many professors who have done there bachelors from banaras university. After came to knowing the major difference of faculties in lpu and any other government college I was glad that I opted for lpu, cause professors of governments colleges does not care that much about there students they are very strict and they does not help much ( I came to know this as my senior in masters degree has completed its bachelors from college of art and I had couple fo friends in bhu and chandigarh university). The eligibilty criteria for bfa course is 50% in 12th standard only. And ther are not any cutoffs or anything you just have to be on time to take the seat. The admission experience is easy though you have to take out like 3-4 hours for it, cause when I was taking admission in lpu there was like a line, and I had to wait for every procedure.

Faculty

4

Faculties are great they are just like students only as they also obays rules of higher ups and many faculties lives faridabad away from there homes alone, there will be 1-2 faculty in a department who will be strict, and HODs are also very good, very helpful. They assign mentors to you personally so you can talk to them if there is something wrong and they will help you. Even though the university is affordable you cannot forget that it's still a private university so if you want your exam to be rechecked or you are failed in a exam you will be charged 10% of your semester fees( scholarship excluded ). The exams are tough and the checking is also tough. I will say 20 percent people fail in an exam. There are many faculties that I liked, rohita ma'am out hod, amit sir my mentor, yogesh sir, kilong sir, nivit sir , prasad sir and shyam sir they all are very nice professors. Thee was one faculty that major of students didn't liked so they do ratings for every faculty every semester, and that faculty got the worst rating so they asked her to leave, so the rating part is very helpful.

Night Life

4

Nightlife for boys are great but for girls it can be a bit traumatic as they don't let girls roam in the campus after 9pm they have to report back in the hostel itself so they can't roam anywhere. Pg students have to leave the campus before 7pm, only the hostel boys can roam and have fun in campus, and the food stalls are open till 10pm and the food stalls are so many and you can find any food here no matter which origin it is they have it.

The placements are very good. Most of the students are placed in big companies with an average package of 500000 per annum. Most of the placements are from CSE and MBA departments. Other courses like fine Arts have comparatively less.

Unlike other departments BFA does not have any entrance exams for admissions, it is purely based on the board’s marks, I wanted to pursue a degree in arts that too in my hometown, hence I chose this college. The admission process as I mentioned is really simple.
