Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate the course curriculum at GMR Institute of Technology as 7.5 out of 10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. I chose this course mainly because it includes core subjects like Data Structures, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems and basic Artificial Intelligence, which are essential for careers in software development and data-related fields. The presence of lab sessions, mini projects and internships in the later semesters also influenced my decision, as they provide hands-on exposure beyond theory. The curriculum prepares students reasonably well for real-world applications by introducing problem-solving techniques, coding practices and teamwork through assignments and projects. However, I feel that the syllabus is still slightly more theory-oriented and needs more industry-based tools such as cloud platforms, real-time datasets and case studies. More coding-focused assessments, hackathons and project-based learning would improve both teaching methods and student engagement.

Placement Experience

4

At GMRIT, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and Accenture visit, offering roles such as software engineer and analyst. The highest package is around 8 LPA and average is 3.5 LPA, with about 65% students placed. After graduation, I plan to gain industry experience and later pursue higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fee for course is 77800rs , yearly registration fees is 13450rs and semester fees for one year is nearly 4000rs and stationary fees of nearly nearly 3000rs and a total of nearly 110000rs is the fee for a student who got seat in eapcet , for management quota fees may vary.

Campus Life

3

My campus life at GMRIT is lively with annual fest STEPCONE in March and tech fest PRAGATI in October. The library has good books and journals. Classrooms have projectors and WiFi. Sports, NSS, coding and cultural clubs plus student portals make life active and fun now.

Admission

I applied to JNTU, ANITS and GMRIT, got confirmed at GMRIT so I chose it for good labs and placements. I missed JNTU due to low EAMCET rank. Admission here is via AP EAPCET with PCM 45% and cutoff near 45k; process was smooth. Staff guided me well.Ok

Faculty

3

At GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), the faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:20, which allows students to interact closely with lecturers. Most faculty members are approachable and encourage students to ask doubts after class or during lab hours. I personally liked Dr. Raghav Varma, Mr. Kiran Rao, and Ms. Sneha Patel because they explain concepts clearly, use real-time examples, and are always supportive during projects and internships. They are considered the best faculties due to their teaching style and student guidance. Some faculties such as Mr. Arjun Mehta and Ms. Kavya Nair were difficult to follow because of fast teaching and limited interaction, which made understanding concepts harder. The exam system includes two mid-exams, lab exams, assignments, and one semester-end exam. The difficulty level is moderate; about 10–15% students fail mainly due to lack of preparation. Overall, the course curriculum is relevant and helps in building technical and problem-solving skills.

Interview Experience

4

I faced my first group discussion in campus during placement training. At first I was nervous, but slowly I shared points and listened to others. It helped me gain confidence, improve speaking skills.

Night Life

3

Nightlife at GMRIT is calm but friendly. Gym closes by 8:30 PM, library by 9 PM, and cafeteria by 8 PM. Hostel in-time is 9:30 for boys and 9 for girls. Students relax in hostels, grounds and canteen, or visit Rajam tea stalls. Area is safe but quiet.

Other Applied Colleges
