DBS: Best Business School of Uttarakhand

Since this University is a business school in itself speaks volumes as to how great its management course is. The course i personally selected is International Business due to personal reasons and future objectives which i can see DBS fulfill them in terms of experience, knowledge and placements. The curriculum is structured in such a way that it prepares every student interested in it. It meets all the aspirations and goals of others.

The CDC aka The Career Development Cell focuses and deals with the internship and placement opportunities for the students. The companies that show up are Deloitte, HDFC, Haffele, TCS among other various banks and companies offering positions mainly in the marketing, business analytics, entrepreneurship and finance sector.

The placement of our college is quite good as various companies from all over the country show up at DBS for the internships and placements such as HDFC, Deloitte, Haffele, TCS etc. There are barely any student who dont get placed. As for my plans after getting my bachelor's degree is to either work for a good company if and when i get placed otherwise definitely grab the offer for the masters degree in management.

Admission fees: 25000, academic fees: 112500, exam fees: 5500 among others They also provide scholarship based on ur merit of board marks and entrance exams. They also have the option for education loan and the accounts department is quite helpful when it comes to financial support and advice

DBS conducts an annual fest called The Manfest where various schools and Universities come yo participate in a variety of events. Its a very large scale event where famous personalities like Aastha Gill show up. Its mainly held in the month of December or January. There are other small events too which keeps on constantly happening throughout the year.

The hostel for girls have options for two seater and three seater rooms with or without attached washrooms and balcony. Each person is given a cupboard to keep their belongings along with enough storage space under the bed. There are water coolers on the floors and dustbins outside each room. There are 4 common washrooms on each floor. There is only one hostel for girls with an elevator facility whereas the other hostels in the campus have staircases. The mess area for girls is quite large and the meal provided is very homely and healthy although repetitive. They provide breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.

I gave exams for a plethora of colleges out of which i was selected for more than five of them including DBS. However i went with DBS as for the bachelor's course the fees was reasonable, the placement opportunities were satisfactory and above all it is a business school afterall which gives it all the more points if one is interested in the management course. There are many go abroad choices for the students as well. The eligibility for my college was not that different from other colleges as it had a certain age limit required, scores based on merit or common entrance exams and it also conducted personal interviews with the faculty and a written test.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:60. The faculties are extremely approachable whatever the query it may be and they are equally understanding of our situations. Due to privacy the names of the faculty members cant be disclosed without their consent but there are certain faculty members who teach the subject at their own pace without rushing to finish off the syllabus just for the sake of it. They make sure that each student who attends the classes understands whatever is being taught and also create assignments and quizzes accordingly to test their knowledge. There are 3 main exams: quarterly, mid sem and end sem. If a student studies regularly or even pays attention in class, it'll be quite easy for them to show up for their exams with confidence and score well.

Before admission the college conducted an online interview and written test for the students who werent able to travel to Dehradun. The interview was conducted by an experienced faculty member who asked questions based on general knowledge, subject related and personal background questions. Thereafter which they conducted a written test with the cameras on a topic which was debatable and opinionated based on which they selected the students. The criteria for admission was quite simple as it relied on both the interview and the marks obtained in the board exams and common entrance tests based on which the scholarship was also provided.

The college has two gyms for both boys and girls, 1 cafeteria each for boys and girls, 1 furnished modernised library and 1 smaller library. The campus has many sitting and common areas where students meet, sit, work or talk with each other. They are quite understanding about the safety and security of the girls as they have built more than 2 hostels WITHIN the campus premises with water coolers and more than 3 common washrooms on each floor. There are rooms with attached washrooms and balcony as well. The boys hostel is right outside the campus and has a huge ground in the center. The boys hostel is newly built and is extremely modernised. Currently they are also building a similar girls' hostel. The hangout spots inside the campus is the Evara Cafe, Canteens and the Gazebo. Outside the campus there are many cafes and hangout spots. The in timings for girls and boys is 9:30pm after which no one is allowed to enter or exit the campus.
