What Students Say
Likes
- The overall ratio in B.Voc is approximately: Boys: 25-30% and Girls: 70-75%. The environment is comfortable, safe for students, and faculties are supportive.
- The B.Voc is truly industry-oriented. Wr work on solar panel installation, inverter wiring, battery management systems, energy auditing, hands on lab experiments which helps understand the practical side of renewable energy, not just theory.
- The teachers are approachable and always ready to explain concepts multiple times. They also encourage internships, workshops, field visits, certificate courses etc.
Dislikes
- Renewable energy is growing but the college still needs stronger tie-tips with solar companies, energy audit firms. The guaranteed placements are not always available.
- The campus lacks some modern facilities like fully equipped smart classrooms, advanced solar testing labs, high-tech simulation labs. Updating the labs regularly would improves student learning.
- Things like certificate issuance, exam form correction, and the administrative processes are slow
Course Curriculum Overview
It is one of the few programs that focuses on solar, energy management, and practical renewable technologies, which is why it feels more meaningful, modern, and job relevent compared to other traditional degrees. The curriculum prepares students for Solar PV technician roles, site supervisor, renewable project coordination. Students can comfortably move into M.Tech. M.Voc. Even though the curriculum is strong, some updates would make it more competitive. Some classes are still theoritical. Improvement is required in teaching methods. Internships should be compulsory, longer and tied to known companies. Each semester includes internal assessment 1 and 2. Final semester exam and practical exams are included. Questions are usually from the syllabus, PYQs. Practical exams are straightforward if you attend labs. Pass percentage is high.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides good internship support through the training and placement cell, industry tie-ups and department-level projects. Stipend vary depending on the company: MNCs: Rs.10000- Rs. 25000/month Startups: Rs.10000- Rs. 12000/month Some internships are unpaid, but offer strong projects

Campus Life
My campus life has been a balanced mix of academics, social activities and personal growth. The college environment is friendly, energetic and full of opportunities to explore different interests. Classrooms have modern facilities such as smart boards, projectors and wifi, which make the learning more interective. Student life is made richer by various clubs and societies like literary club, coding club and E-cell. These groups are run by students and help everyone develop leadership, creativity and communication skills.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are simple but comfortable. Each room includes a bed, study table and chair. A cupboard for storage, proper lighting and ceiling fans and washrooms. Wifi is also available. Water coolers and basic services are provided. The mess food is average-neither too good or too bad. The fee is affordable as compared to private PGs.
Admission
Other colleges like B.Sc offered more theory-based courses. But this course offered more practical sessions, real equipment demonstrations, solar panel installation training, battery and inverter practicals, field visits and project-oriented learning Fee structure is affordable compared to others. Being a part of the university gives better value of degree, easier eligibility for government exams. In colleges like B.Sc, their cutoff was high, their seat availabilty for the energy specialization was limited and my score was decent. The admission process at PRSU for the B.Voc program is student friendly Eligibility includes 12th pass(science/commerce/arts) with minimun 55%. Basic interest in energy and technical subjects is preferred. My admission experience 1. online registration- filled the PRSU university form 2. document submission - uploaded 12th marksheet, aadhar, TC, photo eyc. 3. merit list - Through entrance exam got selected. 4. fee payment - Visited the department, got verification done and paid the semester fee. 5. confirmation - received admission confirmation.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio: 1:6 to 1:8 Most faculty members are approachable, friendly, and willing to explain concepts multiple times. Faculty-student communication is open and respectful. Ankush sir is expert in Solar PV system and electrical wiring. Ankita sao ma'am has great knowledge in renewable energy management, energy audits. Some faculties rushed through the syllabus and were not open to taking extra doubt sessions, but didn't affect overall learning too much. There are total 8 subjects in each semester. The last semester promotes for internship. Very few students fail in the examination, usually 2-5% in one or two subjects. Overall the passing rate high and the department is supportive.
Night Life
Nightlife around the campus is fairly relaxed and student-friendly. Inside the college, most facilities follow fixed timings - the library shuts by 8 PM, and hostel closes by 7 PM, and cafeterias open till 9PM. The locality around the college is considered safe to roam till late evenung. Nightlife is not loudy but simple and comfortable.
