NIRF RANKING is between 101-150 (2020). Very well situated to city area and one of the oldest and reputed universities which are considered to be best in the South Asian universities and conducted SAUFEST in 2019. with highly experienced professors to assist and various seminars and workshops are conducted here with affiliation with central and state govt. You just have to apply for the University entrance exam for your course and qualify for it. I preferred this university for the course which I am doing right now i.e. Bachelors' in Renewable Energy Technology and Management under UGC scheme under NSQF. From the original website www.prsu.ac.in. and Wikipedia.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I opted for this course with thinking of advancement and future scopes and opportunities in the Renewable Energy sector and I wanted to do something different from common engineering courses. teacher :student ratio- 1:50 we have about 15 teachings for every year including Department HOD, Assistant Professors and guest faculties ( those are recruited every year as temporary staff) Most faculties are NET qualified or have completed M.Tech in different courses. teaching of faculties are mostly interactive onces with a digital presentation and also traditional method of learning through blackboarding explanations with concepts clearing and numerical too. Usually, we have 2 internal examinations in a semester including Presentation Seminars and Semester examinations(finals).

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There are no internship programmes provided by the university itself. You have to apply for an internship by yourself after consulting with the HOD of your departments and by their approval. Mostly the central affiliated training companies are approved by the HOD which comes under NSQF UGCs schemes.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements rules are different for every programmes and department. usually, PRSU doesn't provide placements by itself in my knowledge. For my course and my department, we have to do an internship for completion of our final semester and those are mostly paid ones and following your skills, capabilities and knowledge you get placement offers with different packages. According to the University official site highest paid package in my course was around 1.92 lakh per annum. My plans after getting a degree for opting for further studies in my course

Fees and Financial Aid

fees for all students is around Rs.10000 including all charges (labs, tuition fees, excursion fees) Hostel fees are excluded from it. SCHOLARSHIP is provided in accordance with the category system for SCs, STs, and OBSs if their income is below 1 lakh per annum (yearly income).

Campus Life

2.5

Mostly the University conducts Annual fest with different names which include culture and sports fest. University also conducts YOUTH FEST among affiliated colleges of PRSU in CG. PRSU is also a part of SOUTH ASIAN UNIVERSITIES FESTIVAL (SAUFEST) and got the chance to conduct it in the university by itself in 2019, idealogic of SAUFEST was to bring youths of different nations and south Asian countries and differents states youth of INDIA itself in the platform and enrich their cultures. JOURNALS for both science streams and social science is provided and even journals for different streams are provided in their own departments and even the libraries. The classroom is designed interactively with both methods including the traditional way of teaching through blackboard and chalks and also modernized learning through smarts boards and projectors for digital interaction. sports and extra curriculum are also given equal importance as academics. social groups -student union etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

hostel facilities: beds, light, fan, watercooler (for drinking purpose), water heater in bathrooms (for winter purpose), Mess, solar inverters in case of power cuts, parking zones for bicycles and two wheels vehicles, Gardens and small playing area, computer room, electronic gadgets are allowed, -outing days are provided too only if the affidavit is submitted. Provides 3 times proper VEG Indian meal and has good quality. The meal menu can also be changed by students after discussion with the Mess in charge. You just have applied for the hostel form and accordance to your need i.e. the distance in consideration and the level i.e. whether you are in graduation, post graduation or in research is provided on the basis of availabilities of room. yes, it's an affordable one. Nearby the university there many PGs and renting room facilities you can also opt for them if you don't want those hostel rules and restriction on you.

Interview Experience

3.5

Test pattern i.e. the entrance exam is the same as any entrance exams in MCQ form with question related to basics of physics and environmental studies with some GK of present GOVT policies and schemes related to environments. preparation for the entrance exam won't be that tough you just need to evise your 12th physics and some basics of environmental studies and present policies and schemes of GOVT in renewable esector or for sustainable environment will be enough.

Reviewed on Nov 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is one of the few programs that focuses on solar, energy management, and practical renewable technologies, which is why it feels more meaningful, modern, and job relevent compared to other traditional degrees. The curriculum prepares students for Solar PV technician roles, site supervisor, renewable project coordination. Students can comfortably move into M.Tech. M.Voc. Even though the curriculum is strong, some updates would make it more competitive. Some classes are still theoritical. Improvement is required in teaching methods. Internships should be compulsory, longer and tied to known companies. Each semester includes internal assessment 1 and 2. Final semester exam and practical exams are included. Questions are usually from the syllabus, PYQs. Practical exams are straightforward if you attend labs. Pass percentage is high.
