Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course being a niche, explores the vast BFSI sector through its desgined curriculum. The syllabus is regularly updated to keep up with the changes in the industry. The program covers real world case studies, group projects and workshops. Rgeular mock GDPIs are also conducted to get us ready for final placements.

Internships Opportunities

5

Summer Internships are a part of the curriculum and every student must do an internship for 2 months. The college calls companies like CRISIL, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of New York and many more for good roles. It provides a nice platform to develop our skills and technical knowledge.

Placement Experience

5

The placements of the colleges are great with diverse job roles in the BFSI industry. The pool of companies that come for hiring are core banking and finance companies that are a great steeping stone into the industy.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the MBA in Banking and Finance, the program fees is around 10.5 Lakh per year, this includes tuition, mess and hostel fees, and other amenities charges. The fees that we paid for SNAP and other registrations were around 2000. Hostel fees can be increased up to 15% eache year and Mess can be increased up to 10% each year. Government taxes would be additional as and when applicable. Merit based and Industry scholarships are available. Semester toppers get 50% off tuition fees over the duration of the course.

Campus Life

5

The campus of Symbiosis is very scenic. Loads of amenities provide for great social hangouts and helps in networking and creating friendships. The fests and cultural events conducted add alot to the campus life too. Being a part of committees further helps in increasing network.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facility is amazing. Hostels provide all basic neccesities and the rooms are very spacious. The hostels are usually very calm and quiet over the day. Rooms are very secure and near the academic block.

Admission

The main reason of me chosing the college is that the program is a niche in Banking and Finance. The admission process for the college was very smooth conducting of the SNAP test and then GDPI rounds.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio of 1:17 makes it easier for the students to approach the faculty with any doubts. All faculty, including the visiting faculty, have great industry knowledge. There is a good range of electives, guest lectures and mock interviews. Exams happen every semester, the exam system comprises of written exams and practical assignments.

Interview Experience

5

The selection process includes SNAP test and GDPI. The entrance exam- SNAP, evaluated us on basic english, logical reasoning and Quantitative apptitude. The Group Discussion was conducted on current affairs and topics related to Banking and Finance. The whole GDPI process was conducted online and was very smooth.

Night Life

5

The campus being on Hill-top has the most scenic views at night. The library being functional 24/7 helps us study even at night. The mid night cafe caters to all late night cravings. The gym and other facilities are functional everyday after college hours till 9 pm.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Students become eligible for placements after completing 2nd semester and entering in 3rd semester. Attendance is compulsory for getting the opportunity for placements. The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
