Course Curriculum Overview

4

i'd rate the B.E CSE course 8 out of 10 for its relevence and comprehensiveness. its modern, flexible, and largely aligned with what the tech industry demands today. The examination schedule is Very structurized and predictable , which helps in planning your studies . I find difficulty level to be challenging but fair. The Mst's are usually of moderate difficulty and focus on the topics covered up to that point. They are designated to ensure you,re studyinng consistently. The EST is comprehensive and tougher, as it covers the entire syllabus and tests your conceptual understanding.

Internships Opportunities

4

the university has a structured system for the internships, primarily centred around a mandatory 6-month industrial training program that takes place from 6th semester ( essentially, our entire 7th semester is dedicated to this).

Fees and Financial Aid

my admission is through general category. the fee structure isnt fixed; you can expect a slight hike of 10000 in every course every year and this is done in almost every single private universities across India. My fees Semester wise- tution fees- 136200 examination fees- 2500 Total per sem fees- 138700 and this remains same for the whole 8 semesters so total cost my degree would be 11,09,600 which is really high if we see it so we should really work hard for us so that we can get more and more placement offers and our parents doesnt get any load . talking about the reservation fees us same for all students in a particular course , regardless of whether they belong to SC, ST, OBC or Genral everone has same fees . Merit based scholarships based on the scores of 12th JEE mains scores based scholarship merit cum means Scholarship - this is for students who are academically bright but economically weaker are given this scholarship

Campus Life

5

As a second year student , i can confidently say that campus life at cu is a experience in itself. its massive, incredibly diverse, and always buzzing with activity . it's like mini - city where you can find almost everything of your intrest.

Admission

Choosing a college after 12th is a puzzle with many pieces: academics, placement, fees and personal aspirations. My primary goal was to get into a reputable priate university for cse that had a strong placement record without bieng financially crippling. i recieved confirmed admission offers from Cu and Chitkara. the Rejections: why i didn't make it to thapar or manipal: i'll be honest , thapar was my top preference. it has a legacy and a stellar reputation. My downfall was JEE MAINS score . for premier private institutions like thapar and the main campus of the manipal , the competetion for CSE is incredibally fierce. My JEE percentile score was good enough to get me into many colleges, but i wasn't in the top bracket required for a confirmed CSE seat in the initial rounds at Thapar. i was waitlisted, but the waitlist barely moved for the CSE branch. For Manipal i appeared in thier entrance exam(MET) but my rank was not high enougj for the CSE branch at the main campus of MANIPAL . it's hard pill to swallow , but its fine and was a reality check for me , so at last io have to choose between CU And Chitkara and i landed at Chandigarh Universtiy as i compared both of them and found this to be more good according to my requirements .

Faculty

3

the faculty to student ratio is quite high. in our core btranches , it often feel like one professor for every 60-70 students. because of this forming a close one on one relationship with every faculty is really challenging . Faculty i like: Dr. Rakesh Kumar(ADSA) He is genuinely one of the best . His teaching method is really understandable . he break down complex topics like trees and graphs into simple digestive concepts. Exam Structure : Mid Semester 1 - 20 Marks Mid Semester 2 - 20 Marks End Semester Test- 60 Marks Difficulty and Marking Scheme: The MST's are of generally moderate difficulty and are heavily based on the LMS and what being taught in the class during the lectures.

Night Life

4

Its almost 11 pm on a wednesday as im writing this from my hostel room, which is probably the best time to talk about the nightlife here. lets be clear when youre at a campus located on the outskirts like ours, nightlife isnt about cubbing until dawn. its a unique experience.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
