My Honest experience at BSSS - B.Com Honours

I would rate B.com Honours course curriculam at BSSS as quite relevant and comprehensive for students who want to build there career in commerse, finance or management. I opted this couse as it is balanced curriculam. Subjects like Taxation and Financial Management prepared me for real world applications in accounting, audits and corporate finance. While the theory part was strong, the college could include more industry projects, case studies and workshops. The difficulty level of exams are moderate.

I didn't do any internships as we were required to submit a research report in the last year for the academic purpose. Hence there was no intership offered and done by my end. We made the research report in 3-4 months.

At BSSS, we become eligible for the placement opportunity from the 3rd year. Some companies that visited during my course were Accenture, Delloite, and other local bhopal companies. And the package offered was between 4 to 5 l.p.a. There were not much placements as most of the students in my batch were going for further studies and same was with me.

I pursued B.Com (Honours) at The Bhopal School of Social Sciences. The yearly fees for my batch (2019-2022) was around 60000. Total course fees (3 Years) was about 1.8 Lac approx. Additional compulsory charges was the selection of certificate course at the time of admission, where I opt for Tally which cost me 5000/-.

My overall experience with campus life was enagaging. The college provide festival and events, Library and resources, sports and extracurriculum, and social life. It was a great balance of academics, cultural events, sports and students club.

I choose this college for great reputation, NAAC 'A' Grade, balanced environment, add-on courses and location wise in the center of the city bhopal. I didn't select any other colleges as in my mind I was very clear that I want to join BSSS only as my sister also graduated from the same. The admission process was good. Eligibility and cut off for B.com Honours was more than 70% in 12th. And admission was on merit basis so no separate entrance exam. So you just have to fill the form online for BSSS and also a anti ragging form with the same. Then if you are short listed you are called for interview. First with the faculty members and then with the principal. Once selected pay your first installment fees and college uniform fee, then you are done to go.

The faculty was quite good. They focused on practical and theory application. The B.com honours couse covered a balance of accounting , finance, economics, and management subjects. Exams were conducted twice in a year, so all total 6 semesters.

Yes there was interview with the faculty member first and then with the principal. And there is no written test as the selection is on merit list based. So no group discussion, ony interview. Once interview is clear you are all done for the admission.

I never stayed after college. And also college gets close after 5pm. The area around BSSS is great as many places like DB mall, New market and other things are close. But there was a time when college was doing a world record program for which the act was going for about 48 hours and it was also great.
