What Students Say
Likes
- The affordability of the courses there is much lower than that of other colleges because it is a Govt college.
- The infrastructure there is quite good and they have outdoor playground for cultural activities as well.
Dislikes
- The course structure is close to that of an old fashioned education system. They do not teach the latest relevant information that is required for the students to learn to get a more practical overview of the capitalist society.
- The professors are also not interested to teach as they themselves are not equipped with the requisite knowledge and tools to provide a much better education to the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course only because I didn't knew what to do at the time when I passed out from my school. The course structure is seriously required to be updated as it doesn't provide practical knowledge of the work that is actually being done. The level of exams is also very easy as it doesn't ask the questions to challenge the aptitude of the students appearing for the exams. One can pass the exams even without studying a lot and it doesn't require rigorous preparation academically which can help students to gain useful knowledge about the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee for B.com is around Rs. 25000 for all the 3years. I was pursuing B.com (Computer application), and the first year fee was Rs. 9700, and a bit higher in the second year, for the third year, I had applied for scholarship, which resulted in the net total fee of Rs. 25000. They have scholarships available for merit as well as ews. I had the option of choosing between OBC scholarship or Medhavi scholarship. I chose medhavi scholarship.
Campus Life
The annual festival happen in the month of August. The college also has its own library which contains many books but they are all course related and the library doesn't have books on literature which can enhance the perspective of the students. The college doesn't use any technical support to provide education to the students. There are some extracurricular activities which the college conducts on a periodic basis such as outdoor games and indoor games. There are student unions in the college which mainly stand for the rights of the students.
Admission
I didn't apply for other colleges as they were private and charged a lot more fees as compared to this college. The eligibility for the admission is only on the basis of the score of the students in 12th standard. I chose this college because of the infrastructure, it is better than that of other colleges in my city.
Faculty
The faculties are average in terms of their knowledge and behaviour towards students. They answer to those questions which are asked to them about the curriculum but they do not teach the practical stuff related to the real life examples which can give the students better understanding of what they are actually studying. The level of the exams that are being conducted is very easy, even the students which study a night before the exams are able to pass the exams without any problem. The marking system is also not good as they give marks on the basis of the number of pages you have used to write the answer irrespective of the crux of what was asked in the questions.
