A Student's Perspective : The Real Galgotias Experience

The course Curriculum provides a good understanding of the subject at a moderate level with good clarity. If the student wants to appear for any competitive exam like GATE, he/she had to self-study a little bit more for the advanced part and score decent grades. The concept of Interactive learning is also introduced in our university, where it's the students who have to interact with themselves, perform group discussion, give their answers and views to teachers and the whole class. Teachers often give tasks to students to explain certain topics of the subject to gain a better understanding and build confidence.

Galgotias provide Internships to 2nd-year,3rd-year students, but only skilled students, as per the requirements of the company. They get a stipend-based internship. Intership opportunities in the Cybersecurity domain, companies such as Cisco, ZScaler, Synopsys, and visits for the Cybersecurity placements and internships. Also, University mandates a six-month industry internship, ensuring 100% internship support for all undergrad students. Many big companies like Amazon, HCL, TCS, etc have offered internships to the students for gaining practical experience.

Year wise fees which i paid was : 164000 per annum Tution fees : 144000 Exam fees: 20000 2000 - caution money(non- refundable) 1000 for ID card (one time) Scholarships are available for various categories : Jee rank less the 25k gets the scholarship and more .

Galgotias Organises Unifest every year as an annual fest, which is North India's best and grandest event. Many celebrity singers and performers come to perform to have a blast. Smart classes with 6-7 smart screens per class, along with the projectors, are available. Libraries are filled with a large collection of books and journals of different domains and courses, along with novels, magazines, etc In Galgotias University, there are more than 15 clubs of different domains, many technical societies along with an IEEE student branch, which helps the students a lot in enhancing themselves, building confidence and making a strong, valuable network.

Galgotias University has Boys' hostel inside the campus and a girls' hostel in the Galgotias College of Engineering(GCET), which is at the Knowledge Park Metro Station. Boys' hostel fees are: Twin occupancy : Ac : 1,60,000 p/a , Non ac : 1,30,000 p/a Single occupancy: Non AC: 1,35,000 p/a Girls' hostel fees are: Triple occupancy : Ac : 155000 , Non ac : 126000 Mess charges are included in this. Also, for Girls to travel to university, bus service is also available at a cost of 10,000 per annum

I chose this college due to its affordability as compared to the facilities and culture it provides. Also, I liked the environment, the positive vibes, and great well-built infrastructure. Yes, being a JEE aspirant, I got rejections from some great colleges, but I also rejected some government, private colleges of many cities like Pune, Indore, Bhopal, etc and selected Galgotias University as my choice. Admission process is both through JEE and merit-based. After applying, the candidate can expect the offer letter in 15 days, and proceed further by paying the admission fees of 25k before the deadline and can confirm the admission.

Faculty to student ratio is approx 1:25. Faculty members are really very engaging, experienced, calm, and friendly. Faculties always try to provide opportunities and, network to their students. I had a faculty of DSA in Java, whose behaviour, teaching style, and nature were very nice; his connection with me was very supportive and meaningful. University conducts two types of exams per semester: Mid Term Exam, End Term Exam with Practicals (Internal Assessment) The curriculum is not that difficult. College classes with a little bit of self-study are sufficient to get a good Score.

Galgotias University is located on a highway, so there are no hangouts nearby it. Yes, inside the university, there is a cafeteria open 24 hrs. Also, students of the hostel can access the playground, borrow sports equipment with their ID cards and library till 8 pm. There is a gym also, only accessible to hostel students whose fees are included in the hostel fees. Metro stations are 10 km away from the university, and the means of transportation are also easily available there.
