MBBS at Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Government Medical College Kannauj

This course moulds you to become life savers that is doctor. People consider doctors equivalent to god. That is more than enough. For this you have classes beginning from 9am in morning to 5pm in 1st year and 4,pm from 2nd to final year Regular terminal exams are conducted to test the knowledge of students and at the end of session your professional exams will be conducted in which minimum 50% is the passing criteria.

Internship begins after passing final year of mbbs where you sit in opd and examine patients, sit in wards. Internship includes rotational postings in each department including emergency department. Sometimes in some departments internship is very hectic and is light in some departments. Example. In psm department you get to visit field areas for medical camps. The stipend is 12000 per month at present. This is according to Uttar Pradesh government guidelines.

Students of low socioeconomic status are provided scholarship by state government through college. The scholarship amount includes both academic fees and hostel fees. Student have to apply it through government portal and then contact college administration. But the attendance of student should be minimum 75% to avail scholarship.

Being a final year student I can say that my colleges experience is neither too good nor too bad. I will suggest my juniors to be friends with everyone but not get attached to anyone or just get stick to one group of friends because this course consists of 5.5 years and there will be many ups and downs. Some friendships will be made or broke on the basis of your academic score, financial status and that is very bad. Let me share my own experience I had a friends group in 1st year consisting of 6 people, we were like friends forever in our batch and many of our batchmates were jealous of our friendship but now in final year our group broke and now we are not friends due to some personal issues and I was very attached to those people which landed into badly affecting my academics and I passed my 3rd year with 62% marks.

For hostel we get sharing double seater room in first year. This is to make bonding among students. From 2nd till internship you get a single seater room. That is quite good in condition and good to focus on studies and provides privacy. The hostels are non-ac, and ac is not allowed. Students have to buy there own air coolers because summer is very hot here. Hostel have mess attached to it and as of now the monthly fees is 4,500 ? that includes breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner. Hostel is allotted to every student here and is quite affordable. 3600 yearly charge for 1st year double seater room and 5000 yearly charge for single seater from 2nd year onwards.

I chose this college via coice filling of neet ug state government councelling. I selected this college because it is close to my house. The admission process includes councelling of neet UG, competitive exam for entering various medical colleges.

Eaxh department here have unique way of teaching. Also there is mentor mentee programme where every faculty member is assigned over 15-20 students. That is a great faculty to student ratio It is to help students academically.

Here's no nightlife as college is situated in tirwa, a village But some dhabas around campus are open till 2am There are some melas held in tirwa as well as Kannauj where you can enjoy. There's also a movie theatre in Kannauj but not much good. But the campus is full of Greenery, very good for walking around. Also there are many peacocks seen dancing which gives a nice view.
